Ananda in the Himalayas is a luxury destination spa, set in the foothills of the majestic Himalaya mountain range. Located above the holy city of Rishikesh it offers spellbinding views over verdant virgin forests and the sacred Ganges River. Ananda was created from the palace and estate of the Maharajas of Tehri-Garhwal, this award-winning Ayurvedic spa offers world-class relaxation and retreat. Accommodation in Ananda in the Himalayas comprises rooms, suites and villas, designed in the colonial hill architectural style that blends seamlessly with the lush surrounding landscapes. The 78 elegant rooms and Suites with secluded private gardens, overlook the Valley or the Maharaja’s palace. The historic Viceregal Suite has its own private terrace and the capacious villas surrounded by Sal trees have private pools with a deck area and lounge beds.

The Ananda in the Himalayas, has an expansive spa with 24 treatment rooms, state of the art gymnasium, temperature-controlled swimming pool and luxurious hydrotherapy facilities. Wellness packages range from 5-14 nights include all spa treatments and meals. The hotel welcomes single travellers with reasonable rates. Activities in the surrounds include white water rafting, wildlife excursions and trekking.
 


Stay Ananda in the Himalayas offers 70 rooms, 5 suites and 3 villas. These are set within the estate of the Maharaja of Tehri-Garhwal and offer panoramic views of hotel garden, valley or of the Palace. Guest Rooms are spread on first and second floors. Garden Suites located on the ground floor have bedrooms with sitting rooms and a secluded private garden overlooking the valley.

The spacious Ananda Suite feature private sitting and dining areas, and a large private garden with a gazebo seating. Some boast their own private terrace and roof top Jacuzzis overlooking the landscaped gardens below. All rooms are equipped with DVD player, tea coffee maker, well stocked mini bar with healthy options, electronic safe and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi internet access.


ChildCare Ananda in the Himalayas is designed with adults in mind and hence allow children with a minimum age of 15 years and above. Spa & sauna facilities are available to guests above the age of 18. 


Dine Dinning at the Ananda in the Himalayas features the finest Indian, Asian and Western cuisine. Based on the basic values of traditional cooking, the spa’s signature Restaurant offers a menu using fresh, organic vegetables and herbs. The spa chef is available to assist you in your specific dietary requirements. The Tree Top Deck is a delightful outdoor venue that at night, offers a unique romantic dining experience. The Pavilion is a casual and elegant setting for drinks and light snacks, while The bar features the finest wines and liquors.


Relax The extensive spa menu at Ananda in the Himalayas, consists of rejuvenating and restorative traditional Indian and international treatments. Daily wellness programming includes yoga and Vedanta classes, guided meditation, and a rotating roster of specialty workshops, hosted by visiting masters and on-staff teachers and therapists. Spa facilities include 24 luxurious therapy rooms, 2 relaxation rooms and 2 yoga open air Yoga pavilions. Location Ananda in the Himalayas is a luxury spa destination spa located close to Haridwar and Rishikesh. Set within the hundred-acre palace grounds of the Maharaja of Tehri-Garhwal, this world-class retreat features a myriad of attractions from highly balanced cuisine and dedicated spa menus. 


Getting There All major international airlines fly to Delhi’s International Airport. There are frequent flights from Delhi International Airport to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun. Flight time is 45 minutes followed by a 40-min picturesque drive to Ananda in the Himalayas. The resort can also organise helicopter transfers from Delhi and other specific locations to Ananda. 


When to go The best time to travel to India is between September and March. However, the best time for the Indian Himalaya is between April and November. In particular between March to May and October to November when the temperatures are mild and there are clear skies. Winters during November to February give a pleasant weather with a temperature range of 19°C to 33°C. Monsoons offer average rainfalls during July to September.
