There are 157 rooms and suites in Taj Swarna Amritsar. All are spacious in size, with comfortable beds, sitting areas and ensuite bathrooms with modern fittings. Dining options include two restaurants; a multi-cuisine The Grand Trunk Road and the fine-dining The Chinese restaurant. For relaxation there is a swimming pool and Jiva Spa with a focus on wellness using Ayurvedic medicine. Taj Club room benefits include cocktails and canapés in the Club lounge each evening.

Taj Swarna is located just outside the historical and religious city of Amritsar. Founded in 1577, it is known for its Golden Temple, the soul of Amritsar and its historical sites. As the centre of Sikhism, it has become a tourist attraction for both the Sikh diaspora who come here as pilgrims and foreign tourists who want to explore its historical past, the hospitable village atmosphere in its surrounds and experience its Punjabi cuisine. Further afield is the famous Wagah Border with Pakistan.

Stay Taj Swarna Amritsar features 157 rooms and suites including 9 spacious and elegantly styled suites. All are modern in design with classic hotel décor, fusing contemporary style with old-world Indian charm. Rooms start at 31 sqm and have a study table with chair and comfortable seating near large ground to ceiling glass windows that flood the room with natural daylight. The suites come with a separate sitting room. Facilities include LCD TV with satellite channels and Wi-Fi.

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at Taj Swarna Amritsar, but there are no specific facilities available. Babysitting service can be arranged, on request. 

Dine Dining options at the Taj Swarna include two restaurants and a bar. The Grand Trunk Road is an all-day restaurant serving Indian and international cuisine and The Chinese Room, is a fine dining restaurant serving authentic Chinese dishes with fiery flavours. The Peg Bar and Lounge is a sophisticated bar with stylish interiors and a relaxed vibe, known for its “Punjabi peg”. There is also a French delicatessen, The Patisserie for guests with a sweet tooth.

Relax There is a Jiva Spa at the Taj Swarna Amritsar, offering a range of Indian and Pan-Asian therapies. Indulge yourself on your trip to Amritsar with a wide range of treatments and experiences that will leave you completely and utterly rejuvenated. In addition, there is also a swimming pool and a fitness centre. 

Experience Amritsar is the most important city in Northern India with the Golden Temple at its heart, the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion. Nearby are the historical sites of Jallianwala Bagh, the serene gardens of Ram Bagh and the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, once the Summer palace of the first king of Sikh Empire. In the surrounds is the Wagah Border with Pakistan, where a retreat ceremony called ‘lowering of the flags’ is held every evening with much pomp and show, and attended by tourists.
 


 

Location Taj Swarna is located just a 30-minute drive away from the sacred Sikh shrine of Shri Harmandir Sahib in the city of Amritsar in the state of Punjab.

Getting there Fly into Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport. From there the hotel is just 30-minutes by car.

When to go Amritsar has the extremes of summers and winters. Summers (April to June) are hot with temperature soaring to a peak of about 49 °C. Monsoons (July to October) offer mild to heavy rains and are pleasant after the hot summers. Winters (November to March) can touch a freezing -4°C, the highest temperature going up to 18°C. Best time to visit Amritsar is from October to March.
