Stay The Killa Bhawan offers just six spacious guestrooms. All are individually furnished in traditional style with heritage furniture, some with four-poster beds and decorated in Rajasthani fabrics with bright colours. Most rooms have large windows that open out to views of the city and the fort. Some rooms have air-conditioning while others are cooled by fans. We recommend the suites that are charmingly decorated and have stunning views and access to different terraces.

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at Killa Bhawan. Set in the private section of the resort is a fan-cooled room as well as three air-conditioned heritage rooms that are ideally suited for families & friends travelling together. These are lavishly furnished, with 2 adjoining large marbled bathrooms and enjoy a separate and exclusive lobby and roof terraces. Babysitting service can be arranged on request.

Dine The inhouse restaurant at Killa Bhawan offers an extensive menu of traditional Indian and regional delicacies including the vegetarian Rajasthani thalis. Although most restaurants in Rajasthan will serve meat or chicken dishes, it is the vegetarian meals that are to die for. All are freshly cooked over wood-fired ovens with seasonal ingredients mostly sourced from their own private gardens or nearby villages. The KB Cafe located in downtown offers delicious pure vegetarian Indian dishes.

Relax The common customary style in Rajasthan is to relax in the evenings on the roof terrace and enjoy the cool desert breeze. The custom is followed through in Killa Bhawan where comfortable seating in the form of divans draped in bright cushions are arranged. Drinks range from fresh lime and soda to chilled beer to scotch and soda; favourite amongst the Maharajas of the past and present. For those in need of ultimate relaxation after day’s walking, yoga sessions and massages can be arranged.

Experience Jaisalmer is a princely state, set in the heart of the Thar Desert in western Rajasthan. Dominating the skyline is the yellow sandstone built Jaisalmer Fort with a series of Jain temples that date back to the 15th- and 16th-centuries. North of the fort are some of the most beautiful havelis found in Rajasthan and in the surrounds, is Gadisar Lake. One day ask Killa Bhawan to organise a camel safari and experience a sunset sitting on the dunes and looking over the Great Indian Desert.

Location Killa Bhawan is situated within the bastions of the watchtowers of the famous Jaisalmer Fort in Rajasthan, India.

Getting there Fly to Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport, followed by a 1-hour domestic flight to Jaisalmer Airport. Killa Bhawan is situated 1.5km from the airport.

When to go Rajasthan is known as the desert state. It is largely hot and dry throughout the year, making it a great destination to get away from European winters. Summer in Rajasthan extends from April to June. Although it rarely rains in Rajasthan, the temperature drops slightly during the Monsoon period from July to September, and humidity increases. Post-monsoon period from October to November is the official "tourist season" in Rajasthan that extends into the winter months from December to March when its warm during the day and chilly at night.
