RAAS Devigarh, an 18th-century fort-palace outside Udaipur, is a luxury boutique hotel boasting chic and contemporary interiors. This all-suite hotel is a masterpiece in design, marrying the original facade with re-invented minimalist contemporary interior, in which almost everything from the bed and sofa bases to sunken bathtubs and vases is carved out of white marble. Located close to many cultural and historical landmarks, it forms a good base from which to explore Udaipur city and its surrounds.

Each suite is embellished with marble and semi-precious stones, while the public spaces are designed around different metals. Stay at the spacious Garden Suite with white and green marble décor, your own private lobby, garden, tented terrace and beautiful views of the well-manicured gardens. A range of local and international cuisine in a range of settings are available around the RAAS Devigarh. 

There is a superb Ila Spa, known for their earth-to-skin ethical, environmental and sustainable practices. Other facilities include a stunning swimming pool, fitness centre and yoga classes. A short walk from RAAS Devigarh is Delwara, environmentally-aware village, with a step well and income generating projects that promote women’s empowerment. About 15 mins drive are the exquisitely carved 8th-century Eklingji temples. Alternatively, take a city tour Udaipur city known for its marble palaces and beautiful gardens.

Stay RAAS Devigarh offers 22 elegantly restored suites and 17 Garden rooms. All rooms are designed with a mix of traditional style and modern facilities. Each room at RAAS Devigarh feature French windows opening towards the garden or mountains, white marble works embellished with semi-precious stones and a marble finished bathroom. Rooms feature King Size bed with a spacious lobby to relax and a private tented-terrace. Facilities include LCD TV, DVD Player, wireless internet access, separate ladies and gent’s bathroom amenities, Mini-bar and tea/coffee-making facilities.


ChildCare Children are welcome to stay at the RAAS Devigarh. Free cots, toys and art supplies can be provided. Restaurants have highchairs, and there’s a family-friendly pool and outdoor play space. Babysitting can be arranged upon request.


Dine Dining options at the RAAS Devigarh range around local and international cuisine. The breakfast and dinner are served in the main Restaurant, with superb panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the Aravalli hill range. Lunch can be enjoyed in the Bar located on the open-air Pool Deck terrace, it is also ideal venue for evening drinks, high-tea or dinner. Wine list showcases the best of India’s up-and-coming vineyards, as well as a carefully curated selection of international wines, right up to the finest of champagne. 


Relax The world-class Ila Spa is run by authentic British brand Ila. Renowned for their earth-to-skin ethical, environmental and sustainable practices, Ila directly source wild harvested ingredients, many from India itself. RAAS Devigarh also has a heated outdoor pool with breath-taking mountain views.


Experience In the surrounds, the village of Devigarh boasts the exquisitely carved 14th-Century Jain temples. Southeast, the Eklingji temple complex consists of 108 temples built of sandstone and marble, dating back to 734 A.D. RAAS Devigarh can arrange an expert guide and transport for a day tour to Udaipur the former capital of the Mewar Kingdom, known for its forts and palaces.
 


 

Location RAAS Devi Garh is a stunning hill-top fort palace, nestled in the rolling Aravali Hills of Rajasthan. Located close to many cultural and historical landmarks, it forms a good base from which to explore Udaipur city and its surrounds.


Getting There Udaipur is the nearest airport and is served by internal flights from Delhi and Mumbai. 10-hour direct flight to Delhi Indira Gandhi International, followed by a 1-hour domestic flight to Udaipur. Devi Garh Resort is located about 45 mins from the city of Udaipur. 


When to go Rajasthan, the desert state of India is largely hot but unlike the rest of India, has a much longer tourist season. Summer in Rajasthan extends from April to June and is the hottest season. Monsoon arrives in July and extends until September, is a good time to travel to Rajasthan, since it never rains there. Post monsoon, October to November and right through winter months of December to March are perfect for travelling through Rajasthan.
