Singinawa Jungle Lodge, Kanha National Park | Luxury Holidays in India | AsianGeographicalAdventures.com

Singinawa Jungle Lodge is a luxurious place to stay, near Kanha National Park, one of India's prime tiger reserves. Experienced naturalists, Nanda SJB Rana and his wife, Latika Nath Rana, a wildlife biologist developed this lodge to become eco-friendly. Now under the care of an equally enthusiastic environmentalist Mrs Tulika Kedia, she has strived to make it 100% plastic free. The lodge itself sits just outside Kanha National Park and allows for easy access for game drives.

Set along the river Tanneur on the southern end of Kanha National Park, the main Singinawa building has an imposing design of brick walls with colourful local artwork. Spread over spectacular 55 acres of land are twelve stone cottages featuring air conditioning and modern bathrooms. The two multi-room bungalows come with its own kitchen, chef and butler. Gourmet meals are prepared with fresh ingredients, including vegetables, wheat and rice supplied by their own organic farm.

Kanha Tiger Reserve is known for its healthy population of tigers and other wildlife. Nestled near Mukki Gate, Singinawa Jungle Lodge offers two daily game drives into the park. Other activities include a bike ride to the nearby tribal Jaldidand Baiga Village with beautifully painted mud huts. One day, visit the Phen Wildlife Sanctuary, rarely visited by tourists but home to wide variety of animals and rich birdlife. Alternatively, relax in the outdoor pool or rejuvenate at Meadow Spa.

Getting there Fly into Jabalpur, Nagpur or Raipur from Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta or Hyderabad. From Jabalpur the lodge is just a 3-hour 30-minute drive away, whilst Raipur is 4-hours away by car.

When to go Kanha National Park is open for visitors every year from the 15th of October to till 30th of June. The peak season is during winters, between October to March, when a lot of migratory birds visit the park. During March to May, the vegetation gets dried and the Tiger sighting becomes relatively easier than in the winters. The temperature also is not very high however Months of April & May provide a great & almost sure opportunity to Wildlife Photographers.
