BEST HOTELS IN Singapore

Resort

Capella Singapore is a deluxe 5-star hotel, located on the island of Sentosa. Sentosa, which is Malay for "peace and tranquillity," is a resort island located off Singapore's southern coast. It’s home to a number of beaches and attractions, including Universal Studios Singapore. Set across 30 acres of verdant gardens and grounds, and replicating most of the 19th-century architecture, colours and stonework, this unique hotel offers a peaceful respite from the buzz of Singapore's city centre.

Boutique

The Eastern & Oriental Express of Belmond Collection, is a luxurious train that operates 4 days, 2,000-km journey from Bangkok to Singapore via the Malay Peninsula (or vice versa), with stops at the Bridge on the River Kwai and Penang. The voyage recreates the golden age of rail travel, of colonial-style and opulence but its philosophy is best expressed by its exterior artwork called ‘The Koi Pond’ which depicts the joy of travel, movement and the coming together of friends and family.

Modern

The Fullerton Bay is a modern colonial hotel, set on prime waterfront location in the Central Business District of Singapore. Fronted by a glimmering glass façade, the hotel's impressive 17-metre wide lobby joins onto the Clifford Pier, a heritage site that symbolises the arrival of thousands of Singapore's earlier settlers. The hotel is ideally located within a short walk from the glitzy shopping centres on Orchard Road and many of the city’s most-popular tourist attractions.

Classic

Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore is a luxurious haven located in the heart of Marina Bay, offering unparalleled views of the city skyline and Marina Bay Sands. The hotel’s stunning architecture and contemporary design are complemented by an impressive art collection featuring works by renowned artists such as Frank Stella and Dale Chihuly. Guests can enjoy easy access to premier attractions like the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay, and the Esplanade, making it an ideal base for exploring the vibrant city.

Classic

The Fullerton Singapore is an elegant, stately hotel, located near Boat Quay in central Singapore. Housed within the 20th-century Fullerton Building, and once home to the Singapore General Post Office, this luxury hotel is steeped in history. Occupying a prominent location on the Singapore River and within short walking distance of Marina Bay and the waterfront bars and restaurants of Boat Quay and Clarke Quay, this luxurious hotel is ideal for both business and leisure travellers.

Historic

Nestled in the heart of Singapore, the iconic Raffles Hotel stands as a testament to timeless elegance and colonial charm. Its architecture, a fusion of Victorian and Moorish influences, captivates visitors with its grandeur and sophistication. From the majestic white façade adorned with lush tropical greenery to the intricate details of its interior, every corner exudes an air of opulence and history.

Naumi Hotel is a trendy, boutique hotel, set in the heart of the Singapore’s Central Business District. Designed by the Singapore-based firm Eco-id, which was behind the equally chic Metropolitan Hotel in Bangkok, Naumi is one of a very few quality, small-scale contemporary hotels on the island. Just a stone’s throw away from the Suntec Convention Centre, the Formula One Track, and a myriad of inner-city shopping centres, it’s ideal for those who wish to explore Singapore at night.

Shangri-La Singapore is the grand dame of luxury hotels, set in the heart of the vibrant city of Singapore. Surrounded by 15 acres of leafy, tropical paradise and beautifully manicured gardens, it lies within a high-class residential estate that fringes Orchard Road. Both the Orchard and Stevens MRT stations, and the surrounding glitzy malls, are within 15-minutes’ walk away, but most guests prefer to return on a taxi – exhausted and loaded with their yearly Christmas shopping.

WEATHER IN Singapore

The best time to visit Singapore is during its dry season, from February to April. This period offers less rainfall and cooler temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the city's attractions and outdoor activities.

  • Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate characterized by hot and humid conditions throughout the year, with no distinct seasons. The weather is influenced by two monsoon seasons: the northeast monsoon from December to March and the southwest monsoon from June to September.
  • In the northern region of Singapore, including areas like Woodlands and Yishun, the weather tends to be slightly cooler compared to the rest of the island due to their proximity to the Johor Strait. However, temperatures still remain consistently warm.
  • In the central region, including downtown areas like Orchard Road and Marina Bay, visitors can expect high humidity levels and occasional rain showers, especially during the southwest monsoon season.
  • The southern region, home to Sentosa Island and Harbourfront, experiences similar weather patterns as the central region, with warm temperatures and occasional rainfall.
  • The best time to visit Singapore is during the inter-monsoon periods from April to May and October to November when the weather is relatively drier and there are fewer rain showers. However, Singapore's climate is generally warm and humid year-round, so visitors should be prepared for high temperatures and occasional rainfall regardless of the time of year. Additionally, Singapore's vibrant indoor attractions and shopping malls provide respite from the heat and rain showers, making it a suitable destination to visit throughout the year.
