Phulay Bay, a Ritz Carlton Reserve is an ultra-luxurious resort, located in Krabi, on southern Thailand’s west coast. Overlooking the ancient limestone sea-stacks of Phang Nga Bay, the resort features 54 pavilions and villas, all boasting views of one of the most extraordinary landscapes in all of Asia. Designed by local architect Lek Bunnag, the hotel’s design reflects Krabi’s Muslim heritage, blending peaked-roofed buildings and Thai artworks with Moorish-inspired pendant lamps.
Arrivals at Phulay Bay are ceremoniously announced by the sound of a Thai gong and the distribution of calming concoctions of lemongrass and ginger tea. Rooms are Dubai-level lavish, with interiors of cream granite and white linen. The bathrooms have lotus-shaped sinks, double-headed rain showers, and outdoor tubs, and most rooms have massive beds. Although the beach shallows are rocky, there is an expansive infinity pool, six dining options, private butlers and a luxurious spa.

Choose from tropical garden suites with verandas and outdoor tubs, private villas scattered along the beach, or the Reserve and Royal pool villas found along the hillside.

The Phulay Bay Kids delights and engages with children to interact with their surroundings in a fresh and exciting way, while introducing them to the four important pillars of Phulay Bay Kids discovery: Water, Land, Environmental Responsibility and Culture. Baby cots can be fitted into rooms for free whilst extra beds can be arranged with a small cost.
Dine Guests at the Phulay Bay, A Ritz Carlton Reserve have a choice of six dining options offering some of the finest casual and formal cuisine in Krabi. Culinary voyages venture from live action Mediterranean cooking at Jampoon’s Chef’s Table and seafood at the waterfront Lae Lay Pavilion, to traditional Thai favourites in the modern Sri Trang and swim-up service at the Plai Fah infinity pool bar. Private dining can include family barbecues on the beach or romantic sunset dinners for two.
Relax There is a two-tier infinity pool set along the ocean and a lavish spa run by ESPA who offer all sorts of pampering therapies, alongside yoga and fitness classes in the wellness centre. Try the Signature Phulay Bay Scrub which uses lemongrass to exfoliate and revive your skin. Alternatively, you can opt for full moon yoga, detox retreats, meditation and blessing ceremonies led by a Buddhist monk, and a raw-food restaurant.
Experience Krabi is characterized by craggy, sheer limestone cliffs, dense mangrove forests, and beaches. Phulay Bay, A Ritz Carlton Reserve offers excursions to Hong Island, known for its white sand beaches, a scenic hike through the lush jungles of Naga Mountain offering stunning panoramic views and a ride on an elephant. Other activities include kayaking, diving and snorkelling as well as Muay Thai boxing sessions, yoga and tai chi or cycling, diving and hobie cats which are available to rent.

Getting there Krabi International Airport is approximately 1-hour's drive away and is served by numerous daily direct flights to Bangkok.
When to go The driest months with also a a tropical climate in Krabi are from December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season. May to October is the monsoon with downpours occurring once or twice a day, rather than constant rain.
