The Legend Chiang Rai is a Lanna-style boutique resort, set just outside Chiang Rai town in Northern Thailand. Nestled amidst lush vegetation on the banks of the Mae Kok River, it offers 78 studios and villas, all crafted from locally fired brick and natural wood. Two gourmet restaurants serve traditional Thai and continental cuisines, a large swimming pool has an integrated bubble bed for a refreshing break from the warm sun and Chiang Saen Spa provides holistic treatments.

Stay The Legend Chiang Rai features 78 studios and villas. Each feature a generous-sized bed, teakwood furnishings and a spacious open-air seating area. Whilst the villas are larger and come with its own private pool and garden, ideal for relaxing by the river’s edge. All are designed in Lanna style with a contemporary twist and feature an open plan tropical bathroom, day bed, music system, satellite TV, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. Many have views of lush gardens and the mountains.
ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at The Legend Chiang Rai, however there are no specific facilities available for children. The larger villas are ideal spaces for families. Babysitting service can be arranged, upon request.
Dine There are two restaurants at The Legend Chiang Rai. The outdoor Sala Rim Nam, set against the backdrop of the river with open kitchen with a grill, where well-trained chefs create Western and Thai styles dishes. Located on the Mae Kok River, is the Suan Chainum Restaurant that serves barbeque with chilled draft beer, vintage wines and exotic cocktails, while the Wine Casa and Bar offers a selection of unique wines.
Relax Leisure facilities at The Legend Chiang Rai include an infinity edge swimming pool, located next to the river and comprises of an integrated bubble bed, perfect for sunbathing. There is also Chiang Saen Spa that provides holistic treatments to promote wellbeing and inner health. Alternatively, just relax in the tropical gardens, an idyllic sanctuary for birds and butterflies.
Experience Chiang Rai offers a wealth of opportunities of things to do during your stay. The Legend Chiang Rai can arrange guided tours to visit the revered mountain of Doi Tung known for its Doi Tung Palace, Mae Fa Lung Flower Garden. Enjoy a short break at Suan Tung & Khom and its beautiful garden of winter flowers or the elegant architecture of Wat Rong Khun, a unique white Buddhist temple. Other activities include trekking, visiting local villages and exploring the Golden Triangle.
Location The Legend Chiang Rai is found alongside the Mae Kok River in a secluded location, however it is just a few minute by car to the city centre.
Getting there 11-hour flight to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport followed by a 1-hour domestic flight to Chiang Rai.
When to go The best time to visit Chiang Rai is between October and April. The monsoon season traditionally begins in May and lasts through to October, with July to September usually being the time of heaviest rain. The hottest month is April, when temperatures can hit the 40s. The cooler months of November to January will be a good time to travel if you don't like the heat, with the average day temperature slightly below 30°C.
