Banyan Tree Samui is a luxury resort, set on the south-east coast of Koh Samui island, that lies in the Gulf of Thailand. Nestled on a private hill cove dotted with coconut palms, are 88 super spacious villas ranging from 190 sqm to 428 sqm, boasting dramatic views of a quiet and isolated bay. Golf-buggies chauffeur you around the resort; while your own private butler is contactable at all times on the mobile phone you’re provided with on arrival.
Guests can choose from a selection of three fine restaurants serving contemporary Asian and international cuisines with spectacular views out across the ocean. Stay Banyan Tree Samui boasts 88 plush villas, all with plunge pools and whirlpool tubs. Each villa features a bedroom with direct access to the pool and extensive outdoor terrace, a separate living area, and huge windows offering great views across the Gulf of Thailand. The villas vary in terms of their size and their views but each has a similar contemporary finish and they feel very spacious. The spacious bathrooms have a luxurious rain shower, gigantic bathtub and his-and-hers sinks.
ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at Banyan Tree Samui and there is a kids' club for children age 4-12 years which is open on weekdays. Babysitting services can be arranged, upon request.
Dine There are three main restaurants at the Banyan Tree Samui. Saffron, the resort’s signature restaurant, is open only for dinner and serves authentic Thai cuisine with a modern twist. With amazing views of Lamai Bay, it boasts a slightly formal atmosphere. International cuisines are served at The Edge, where views over Lamai Bay make a picturesque setting. The Sands is located on the beach and appropriately focuses on fresh seafood.
Relax The pool is big enough for a good swim and has a kids’ pool and a bar, but the real highlight at the Banyan Tree Samui however is The Rainforest spa. The hydrotherapy spa is designed for you to travel along the Rainforest Trail, which comprises of ten different hydrotherapy experiences; Rain Walk, Aroma Steam, Finnish sauna, bucket drench shower, ice fountain, Swiss shower, and finally, a dip in the vitality pool. There is also a gym and yoga room for fitness fanatics.
Experience Ko Samui is Thailand’s second largest island which is best explored by boat or on foot. Head out to sea on the resort's private speedboat, to explore coves or head inland for a jungle trek. Ang Thong National Marine Park is an archipelago of 42 islands with great snorkelling opportunities. Interesting sites include the natural geological formations known as Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks, the Big Buddha Temple to the north of the island and Koh Tao or the ‘Turtle Island’ known for scuba diving. Other activities include kayaking, windsurfing, volleyball and table tennis.

Location Located on the hillside overlooking Lamai Bay on the southeast coast of Koh Samui.
Getting there 11-hour flight to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport followed by a 1-hour flight to Koh Samui. From here it is just a 20-minute drive to Banyan Tree Samui.
When to go Koh Samui has a tropical climate and the best time to visit is from February to September, which is relatively dry but there is some rain every month. February to April are the driest months. October to January are wet with the monsoon coming from the northeast across the Gulf of Thailand.
