Stay Wanakarn Resort and Spa features just 15 Pool Villas. Each feature a living room with a sofa, a Master Bedroom with an oversized king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding Jacuzzi bath and rainforest shower. Outside, there is a hardwood panelled terrace with a private swimming pool and waterfall shower, where you can enjoy total relaxation in an intimate setting. The Grand Ocean Villa offers two bedrooms, a spacious living and dining area, kitchenette and a large private pool.
ChildCare As this is such a secluded retreat with an emphasis on tranquillity, the Wanakarn Resort and Spa is reserved exclusively for guests aged 12 years and above.
Dine The Twin Waters Restaurant & Bar at the Wanakarn Resort serves a fusion of Thai French/Italian cuisine with an emphasis on bringing out the flavours of Thai herbs and spices. The changing menu is designed by Chef Somchai Phalawan and as member of the Relais & Châteaux group, you can expect contemporary Thai cuisine. You can also enjoy a wide selection of premium teas, drinks and exotic cocktails at one of the three bars on site. A sunset drink on the Sunset Terrace is a must.
Relax If you can tear yourself away from your private oases, then relax in the infinity pool with a swim-up bar surrounded by leafy botanical gardens, parasols and sunloungers. Or you can head to the Sukko Spa offering a range of traditional and exotic therapies and treatments for a bit of pampering. There are also tennis courts, a fitness centre and the two beaches – one riverside and one bordering the sparkling waters of the Andaman Sea.
Experience On-site activities at the Wanakarn Resort include kayaking, windsurfing, mountain biking and tennis, and complimentary bicycles to explore the surrounding area. You can also head out in a kayak to explore the island from the water and get some wonderful inland views. The more adventurous can hop on an excursion out to sea, visit the neighbouring national parks, tee off at a world-class gold course or even try your hand at rock climbing.
Location Wanakarn is in a secluded location to the north of Phuket. The resort spans 15 acres and has a long beach front, river front and tranquil botanical gardens.
Getting there 11-hour international flight to Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport, followed by a 1-hour domestic flight to Phuket International Airport. It is then a 40-minute road transfer to Wanakarn.
When to go Tropical climate and the driest months to visit are December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season. May to October is the monsoon with downpours occurring once or twice a day, rather than constant rain.
