Banyan Tree Phuket – Lagoon Resort in Thailand

The Banyan Tree Phuket is a luxury tropical resort set near Bang Tao Bay on the northwestern coast of Phuket. Set in over 600 acres of lush tropical gardens, coconut groves, tranquil lakes and lagoons, are 150 luxurious one to two-bedroom villas, all with private pools. Each freestanding villa is influenced by local architecture and a private landscaped garden with interiors incorporating warmly-lit, hardwood-floors, modern furniture and Asian-influenced artwork. 

On-site activities at the Banyan Tree Phuket range from tennis to cooking classes and a library, or venture further out to elephant trekking, jungle safaris and kayaking in the lagoons. Numerous fine dining opportunities include Thai specialities at the Saffron, the Watercourt buffet and a pool bar. A host of recreations include the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa, two swimming pools, tennis, championship golf and Thai cookery classes and the Quest Adventure programme.
 


Stay The Banyan Tree Phuket has 150 luxurious villas, dotted around the extensive tropical gardens surrounding the central lagoon of the Laguna Phuket complex. Each villa is low rise and has private walled gardens and designed in a contemporary style with a traditional Thai twist. Inside, villas boast his-and-hers dressing areas, floor-to-ceiling windows, king-sized beds and authentic wooden accents. Some have fully-equipped kitchen, personal chef, open-air sunken bath or even your very own private in-villa spa complete with floating bed pavilion amid lily ponds.

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at the Banyan Tree Phuket. One and two-bedroom villas are available and there are also interconnecting villas. The Turtle Club conducts activities such as sand sculpture, kite making and batik painting. The Banyan Tree Rangers programme for children aged 5 - 10 years encourages them to explore nature and make the most of their senses. Quest Adventure Programme for children aged 9-14 offers activities such as high ropes, abseiling and rock climbing. Babysitting service is available, upon request. 

Dine There are five different restaurants at the Banyan Tree Phuket serving from contemporary Thai dishes to Vietnamese specialities and traditional western menus. The resort’s signature restaurant Saffron, offers authentic Thai fare, while the al fresco ambience of Tamarind remains Phuket’s premier destination for authentic Japanese sushi and delicacies. The open-air, Watercourt restaurant serves divine Mediterranean dishes and for more casual fare there is Banyan Café.

Relax A host of extensive recreations at the Banyan Tree Phuket include two swimming pools, three tennis courts, a library and internationally acclaimed pioneering Banyan Tree Spa. There is also Laguna Phuket Golf Club championship, the 18-hole championship golf course and Thai cookery classes. The Quest Adventure Programme includes outdoor activities such as rock climbing and abseiling. Other activities include horse riding, elephant trekking, jungle safaris, deep sea fishing and island hopping.

Experience The Banyan Tree Phuket conducts activity programmes such as tai chi, aerobics, aqua toning, diving, sailing, windsurfing even batik painting. Those seeking more adventure can join the Quest Adventure Programme which conducts rock climbing and abseiling. Other activities like horse riding, elephant trekking, jungle safaris, deep sea fishing and island hopping can be easily arranged. Alternatively, explore Phang Nga Bay, renowned for its stunning limestone cliffs and evergreen mangrove forests.

Location Situated at Bang Tao Bay on the north-western coast of Phuket Island in southern Thailand, located within the resort area of Laguna Phuket, approximately 30-minutes from Patong Beach in the South and 40-minutes from Phuket Town.

Getting there 11-hour international flight to Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport, followed by a 1-hour domestic flight to Phuket International Airport. Banyan Tree Phuket is 20-minutes from the airport.

When to go Tropical climate and the driest months to visit are December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season. May to October is the monsoon with downpours occurring once or twice a day, rather than constant rain.
