This magnificent villa is the brainchild of a British couple, who have an eye for a perfect location, for it enjoys the sweeping view of the sea on one side, and the emerald jungle on the other. The interior design is created by Sri Lankan architect Sunela Jayawardene, who blends the natural surroundings with stylish Dutch-period antiques, colourful furnishings and local artwork.

Activity enthusiasts can visit Unawatuna beach for surfing and scuba diving while further west is the 17th-century Galle Fort with narrow streets lined with boutique shops.

Location Set in the rural village of Wanchawala just 15-minutes inland from the beaches of Galle.

Getting there The villa is located about 10 kms away from the Galle exit on the Southern Highway. The historic 17C Galle Fort is 20-minutes away. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about 2.5-hours.

When to go Sri Lanka is a year-round destination with consistently warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. There are two monsoon seasons but they only bring rain to the west and south-west coasts from May to September; and the east coast and northern region between October and February. The rest of the year is sunny and dry but the months of December to April are probably the best time to visit. Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C.
