Cinnamon Wild is a four-star wildlife resort, located close to the gates of Yala National Park on Sri Lanka’s southeast coast. The design represents rustic luxury with contemporary ambience, that blends seamlessly with the surrounding wilderness, achieved by Sri Lankan architect Channa Daswatte of RA Design. Occupying a splendid location between the lagoon and the ocean, it provides a combination of both jungle and beach experiences.

Accommodation at the Cinnamon Wild comprises of 68 Jungle and Beach Chalets. All feature earthy interiors with a camp look and feel, using natural materials including wood and palm thatch and sullen greys, deep browns and subdued greens. The interiors are comfortably furnished with king-size canopied beds fitted with mosquito netting and come with modern amenities; air conditioning, 32-inch LCD TV with satellite channels and tea/coffee facility.

The main restaurant at the Cinnamon Wild is open and relaxing with private dining options beside the pool and on the lake shore. There are three bars with soft engulfing couches and sleek bar stools and an Observation Deck with 360-degree view. Guests here will experience two game drives to the Yala National Park including night safaris using night vision goggles. Outside the park, guests enjoy watching turtle hatchery, and visit Bundala National Park home to about 200 species of birds.

Location Yala National Park is located on the South-East coast of Sri Lanka, 277km from Colombo.

Getting there Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) is the sole international airport in Sri Lanka and is located about 30km north of the city. Transfer times vary depending on your safari itinerary. Yala National Park is approximately 6/7 hours from Colombo.

When to go Sri Lanka is a year-round destination with consistently warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. There are two monsoon seasons but they only bring rain to the west and south-west coasts from May to September; and the east coast and northern region between October and February. The rest of the year is sunny and dry but the months of December to April are probably the best time to visit. Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C.
