KK Beach is a contemporary and stylish beachfront boutique hotel, set near the small village of Habaraduwa, on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. KK Beach is the latest stylish offering by the award-winning interior designer George Cooper whose much-loved Kahanda Kanda set in a working tea plantation nearby, complements this jungle meets beach concept. Perched on a tranquil Habaraduwa beach, it’s just 12km from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort.
There are just two deluxe rooms, two suites and six penthouses at the KK Beach. Each has Mediterranean- inspired décor, full-length sliding glass panels and a private outdoor terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean. Set within an open-plan ground floor is a laid-back Living Room and Bar, and the Beach Club restaurant where guests can enjoy seafood barbecues and Sri Lankan curries. While the 20m black slate pool with comfy sun loungers enjoys seclusion and exclusivity.
Occupying a prime location on the southwestern coast, KK Beach is close to many of the important historical and cultural sites in the region. In the north is the mangrove-fringed Koggala Lake where you can enjoy a boat trip and visit its islands, some with Buddhist hermitages. Then take a cycling tour around the lake to visit cinnamon farmers and discover its varied birdlife. Activity enthusiasts can visit the beach town Unawatuna offering whale watching, surfing and diving.
Amenities
Stay KK Beach features just ten stunning rooms grouped in Deluxe, Suite and Penthouse. There are two spacious suites with a separate sitting area and a private terrace and six luxurious Penthouses complete with oversized bathrooms, indoor and outdoor living spaces and a private sunbathing area on the terrace. Standard Deluxe rooms offer full height windows while others have balconies affording uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean.
ChildCare Families with children of 12 years and above are welcome to stay at KK Beach but there are no suitable facilities available for the young visitors. Please note the resort is more suited for adults due to the intimate design of the rooms.
Dine The Beach Club is the main restaurant at KK beach, which offers a combination of fresh sea food, authentic Sri Lankan dishes and Thai cuisine. There is also a living room and bar, perfect spot for enjoying a sundowner. Meals can also be served al fresco in the garden, beneath the palms with your feet on the soft sand of the beach beyond. Meals are prepared with locally sourced fresh ingredients and may include Sri Lankan curry, biriyani and wholesome bowls of superfood salad.
Relax Facilities at KK Beach include a 20-metre long infinity pool surrounded by a manicured lawn, palm trees and sun loungers. Yoga classes with an option of a private class and in-room massages that can be arranged, upon request. Guests have easy access to the beach for leisurely strolls and there are spots nearby for a swim.
Experience Koggala is a small village on Sri Lanka‘s South Coast with beautiful beaches, some of which have the best surf spots on the island. Koggala Beach on which KK Beach is located is not crowded while the Koggala River and Koggala Lake attract many nature lovers. There is a lot you can do here; visit to the Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Art Museum, ride on a catamaran around the Koggala Lake and visit a bird sanctuary or take boat excursions off the coast to see blue whales and spinner dolphins.
Location KK Beach is located just 12km from Galle on the west side Habaraduwa on the south coast of Sri Lanka.
How to get there Fly to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. From Colombo airport it is about a 3-hour drive to KK Beach.
When to go Sri Lanka is a year-round destination with consistently warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. There are two monsoon seasons but they only bring rain to the west and south-west coasts from May to September; and the east coast and northern region between October and February. The rest of the year is sunny and dry but the months of December to April are probably the best time to visit. Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C.
