Spiritual Pilgrimage Across the Himalayas

Rishikesh to Lhasa – 19 Days

Expedition Overview

This profound journey traces a spiritual arc through India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet—regions long considered the sacred heartlands of the Himalayas. From the riverbanks of Rishikesh to the enlightenment sites of Bodhgaya and Lumbini, you'll walk in the footsteps of sages and seekers. Witness powerful rituals on the Ganges, explore temples and monasteries steeped in history, and experience the daily rhythm of life in some of Buddhism and Hinduism’s most revered destinations.

In Bhutan, discover the quiet beauty of cliffside monasteries and learn about Gross National Happiness through meaningful encounters. In Tibet, explore the soaring halls of Potala Palace and the sacred paths of Jokhang and Drepung. Along the way, you’ll meet monks, scholars, and gurus who share their insights into meditation, philosophy, and ancient practices. This is more than a tour—it's a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual exploration across borders, beliefs, and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.

Highlights

RISHIKESH AND THE SACRED GANGES: Begin your pilgrimage in Rishikesh, a revered Hindu town beside the Ganges. Attend the spiritual Ganga Aarti ceremony, hike to Kunjapuri Temple at sunrise, and visit historic shrines. This Himalayan foothill experience blends yoga, devotion, and peaceful natural surroundings—a perfect starting point for your sacred Himalayan journey.

BUDDHIST SITES IN INDIA AND NEPAL: Explore India’s major Buddhist pilgrimage sites—Kushinagar, Sarnath, and Bodhgaya—before crossing into Nepal to visit Lumbini, Buddha’s birthplace. Walk the same paths where the Buddha lived, taught, and attained enlightenment. These deeply spiritual places connect history, devotion, and sacred geography across the Himalayan cultural landscape.

BHUTANS MONASTERIES AND MOUNTAIN TRAILS: Discover Bhutan’s unique blend of spirituality and mountain life. Hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery, visit the hilltop nunnery in Thimphu, and receive a traditional blessing from a senior lama. Bhutan offers profound spiritual insight, stunning Himalayan views, and authentic encounters with monks and Buddhist scholars.

SPIRITUAL HERITAGE OF TIBET: In Lhasa, follow the sacred kora around Jokhang Temple, visit Potala Palace, and explore the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism at Drepung Monastery. From chanting pilgrims to ancient murals, Tibet offers a powerful spiritual atmosphere in one of the world’s most remote and revered high-altitude destinations.
