The Dwarika’s Hotel is a beautiful hybrid of a museum and a boutique hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal. When we arrived at the Dwarika’s Hotel, it all appeared a bit strange in the beginning; handmade brick walls and wooden carvings. But, those wooden carvings, we were told were rescued by its owner, Dwarika Das Shrestha over 40 years. And then it all fell into place; this isn’t just a unique hotel, it’s a unique heritage hotel built with a dream.

The Radisson Hotel is one of the better 5-star hotels offerings in Kathmandu, a city which has surprisingly few very good hotels at the high end of the market. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, it is a short distance from Durbur Marg city centre and the historic trekker’s ghetto, Thamel. Although not exotic or sophisticated, it tries to maintain the Radisson standards.

Shangri-La Hotel, is not part of the International Shangri-La group but it’s one of the comfortable properties in Kathmandu. The hotel is located a short distance from Thamel, the soul of Kathmandu. The story

This tour was designed to capture the essence of the Himalayas, inspired by the region’s breathtaking landscapes, rich spiritual heritage, and vibrant cultures.

The journey through Nepal and Bhutan offers a unique blend of adventure, tranquillity, and cultural immersion. Our itinerary features unforgettable adventures and expertly led guided tours, ensuring travelers experience the best of the region. Special emphasis is placed on visiting UNESCO sites, allowing guests to explore some of the most significant cultural and historical landmarks in the Himalayas.

From the historic streets of Kathmandu to the serene beauty of Bhutan’s monasteries and the wild heart of Chitwan National Park, the expedition caters to those intrigued by nature, culture, wildlife, and the pursuit of extraordinary experiences.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

YOUR TRIP DESIGN, PACE & FLEXIBILITY: This itinerary is privately operated and shaped around your preferred dates, pace and comfort level, pairing Nepal’s Himalayan drama with Bhutan’s calm, structured cultural depth. The most valuable early decision is emphasis: in Nepal, whether you want the trip to lean more towards heritage and city life, mountain views and gentle walking, or a stronger nature-and-wellness cadence; and in Bhutan, whether you prefer a classic cultural sweep or deeper time in fewer valleys. We can refine the rhythm by reducing hotel changes, adding a pause night where it most improves comfort, and timing key visits for calmer hours.

ROUTING OPTIONS WORTH CONSIDERING: Nepal and Bhutan can be designed with several high-impact refinements. Many clients choose to add a “view-led” extension in Nepal—either a refined mountain resort stay or a short, gentle trek supported to a premium standard—before flying onward. In Bhutan, time can be reweighted to include quieter valleys, more monastery-led moments, or a stronger hiking focus, depending on your taste. If you prefer a more restorative flow, we can include additional spa time and slower mornings; if you prefer more cultural depth, we can add specialist interpretation around art, architecture and Buddhist philosophy. We will advise the most elegant sequencing, especially around flight timing and altitude comfort.

LOCAL EXPERTISE, VIP SERVICE & ON-THE-GROUND SUPPORT: Travel is arranged with private transfers throughout, supported by expert local guides meeting you for key touring and walking days. In Nepal, we can incorporate specialist guides for heritage, nature and light hiking; in Bhutan, your licensed guide and driver team deliver the journey with discretion and deep local knowledge. Where it adds value, we can introduce specialist hosts—such as cultural historians, monastery-connected interpreters, or nature experts—so experiences feel genuinely curated rather than standard. Airport handling and cross-country transitions are managed with a VIP mindset, with clear points of contact and proactive support throughout.

ACCOMMODATION & DINING APPROACH: Accommodation is selected to a premium brief, aligned to your preferred style—contemporary luxury, heritage character, larger rooms and suites, or spa-led properties—with an emphasis on quiet, service and setting. In Nepal, we can position a standout mountain stay for views and recovery; in Bhutan, we prioritise properties that deliver comfort, warmth and refined service in each valley. Dining is intentionally flexible so meals follow your tastes and energy, with curated highlights available when desired—private tables, thoughtful local specialities, and wellness-aligned options—without making evenings feel scheduled. Dietary preferences are handled discreetly.

ALTITUDE, HIKING & PRACTICAL COMFORT: While this is not an expedition itinerary, altitude and terrain can still shape comfort—particularly if you include mountain viewpoints, Himalayan flights, or longer walks. We will advise pacing strategies that support sleep and energy, and we can calibrate hiking days from gentle scenic walks to more demanding trails. In Bhutan, iconic hikes can be delivered at a pace that feels dignified and unhurried, with strong on-the-ground support. If you prefer a slower cadence, we can protect mornings, reduce early starts, and build in recovery time without losing the core highlights.

ENTRY FORMALITIES, FLIGHTS, COSTING & TERMS: Bhutan travel involves advance arrangements and structured entry processes; we guide this end-to-end so preparation remains straightforward. We will advise the most reliable flight routing between Nepal and Bhutan, including sensible buffers in case of weather disruption. Pricing is built from live availability—hotels, private transport, guides and flights—so final costs depend on season, room categories and confirmation timing. Your proposal will set out inclusions and assumptions clearly, with enhancements presented as options (suite upgrades, premium properties, specialist hosts, added nights). Deposits secure key reservations, with balance dates aligned to supplier deadlines, and any refinements costed transparently before confirmation.
