Situated high above the town and surrounded with a beautiful farmland, it affords stunning views of the countryside and the Pone Taloke Lake. Thahara is ideally placed to explore the nearby Pindaya caves.

Experience Pindaya is famous for its limestone caves, its attractive lakeside setting, and the traditional Shan paper umbrellas that are manufactured here. Most travellers at the Thahara Pindaya, take visit the Pindaya caves set high on a limestone ridge above Pone Taloke Lake. On return, stop at the gorgeous 19th-century Hsin Khaung Taung Kyaung temple and the Green Tea Restaurant with beautiful views of the lake. Other activities include cycling, trekking and visiting cottage industries.

Location Thahara is located in the hills of Shan State, close to the small town of Pindaya. Shan State is towards the northeast of the country.

Getting there Approximately 13-hour indirect flight to Yangon or Mandalay, followed by a short domestic flight to Heho. It takes about an hour to drive from Heho to Pindaya by private transfer.

When to go The best time to visit Burma is during the dry season from November to April. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.
