The kitchen staff are flexible with the menu and will be happy to accommodate any special dietary requirement.

Relax There is a central thatched lobby with a bar area, fireplace and dining room which offers traditional Burmese fare. There are no facilities of the kind expected in a luxury hotel but there are enough spaces to relax and the helpful staff at the Putao Trekking House are always ready to offer advice on visiting local areas.

Experience Putao is the northernmost town of Kachin State. This utterly remote and incredibly beautiful region in the far northern reaches of Myanmar has only recently opened its doors to the outside world. The Putao Trekking House offers a range of trekking options ranging from a day tour to upto 12 days.  The main treks include the Rawang Trail and the other is to view Mt. Phangran Razi, 4,300m. Both trails visit Myanmar's gypsy Lisu, Pigmy Tarong, hunting community of Htalu and Tibetans.

Location Putao Trekking Lodge is located just outside the town of Putao in the north of Burma.

Getting there Fly to Putao from either Mandalay or Yangon.

When to go The best time to visit Burma is during the dry season from November to April. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March, and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.
