Waldorf Astoria Shanghai – Iconic Stay on The Bund

Waldorf Astoria Shanghai is a luxury 5-star hotel, set in the heart of the celebrated Shanghai Bund, Eastern China. Comprising of the beautifully restored 1911 Shanghai Club and the newly built modern tower, this hotel is a magnificent homage to Shanghai’s swank European past. Occupying a beautiful location on the Bund, a waterfront boulevard which runs alongside the Huangpu River, it offers an urban sanctuary for both business and leisure travellers.

Spread across two buildings, the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund has 271 guest rooms and suites. The Heritage Building suites are luxuriously decorated with carved wooden cabinets, canopy beds and freestanding tubs. While the rooms in the new tower are more modern in style, with Art Deco-inspired light fixtures, dark wood desks and bathrooms done up in black-and-white marble. In each room you’ll find digital controls for the drapes, lighting, room temperature and more.

There are three fantastic restaurants, two lounges and a brilliant bar at Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, serving an array of authentic Chinese and modern French cuisines, fine dining to light bites. Begin your day at the Grand Brasserie, the hotel’s luxurious, white-columned all-day dining venue then relax in the Waldorf Astoria Spa offering both traditional Chinese and modern therapies. Alternatively, just relax in the large indoor swimming pool with a steam room and sauna.
 


Stay Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund has 271 guest rooms and suites spread across two buildings. The Waldorf Astoria Club is the original building with neo-classical architecture, and one of the few remaining heritage structures in Shanghai. It has an all-suite layout with classic old-world glamour, timber cladding and sweeping linen drapes. Rooms in the newly built Tower Wing are modern in style with marble finished bathrooms and state of the art in room entertainment features.

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at Waldorf Astoria Shanghai. There are a number of connecting room options that work very well for families. The hotel also offers a number of family focused activities and excursions, which can be arranged by the concierge. Babysitting service can be arranged, upon request. 

Dine Guests have a choice of six exceptional restaurants and bars at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund hotel. Pelham is the hotel's signature fine dining restaurant serves up nouveau American cuisine while Wei Jing Ge gives you a taste of traditional Cantonese, Shanghainese and Huai Yang dishes within wonderfully ornate surrounds. The Long Bar, elegant Salon de Ville and glittering Peacock Alley all provide fantastic places in which to relax and unwind.

Relax The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Spa offers eight secluded treatment rooms, each equipped with a private steam room and rain shower. Treatments utilise both traditional Chinese medicine philosophies and modern spa therapies to provide an ideal balance. To relax further there is a heated indoor swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms and state of the art fitness centre.

When to go Shanghai weather is generally warm and humid, with four distinct seasons - a pleasant warm spring, a hot rainy summer, a comfortable cool autumn and a cold winter. The hottest time in Shanghai comes in July and August, with more than 10 days at temperatures above 35 C. The coldest time is from the late January to early February. The spring from March to May is recommended as the best time to travel to Shanghai.
