Experience The Yunnan region is famed for its natural beauty and there is plenty to explore in and around Lijiang. Begin with the Old Town of Dayan, a short walk from the Intercontinental where the impeccably rebuilt Mu Mansion, the palace of Lijiang’s ruling chieftains still dominates Dayan. The town is dominated by Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, a glorious peak that helps create one of the region’s most sublime settings. Activities include trekking to the mountain and surrounds.

Location The Lijiang Ancient Town Resort is set in extensive gardens and enjoys spectacular views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Conveniently located for the historical town, this is a fabulous retreat from the hustle and bustle of most Chinese cities.

Getting there The nearest airport is Lijiang Sanyi which is situated 27km away from the resort. A shuttle can be arranged with the resort itself or the 30-minute journey can be taken by taxi. From Lijiang Railway Station 15km away, the resort is best reached by taxi.

When to go Overall, the temperature of Lijiang is lower than the other places in Yunnan. There is also a big temperature difference between day and night. The best time to travel Lijiang is spring and summer. If you want to experience the most beautiful scenery of Lijiang, April and May is the best time for you to arrive.
