Ashgabat

Arrive in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, famous for its white marble buildings and golden monuments. Meet your guide and start the city tour to see the grand mosques, wide avenues and modern architecture. Visit the key museums to learn about Turkmenistan’s past from ancient civilizations to Soviet history and today’s unique identity. Walk through the colourful bazaars and fountains and take in the city’s mix of tradition and ambition. Mary & Merv

Fly or drive to Mary, a quiet city that serves as the gateway to ancient Merv. Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, once one of the most important cities on the Silk Road. Walk among the ruins of mausoleums, mosques and fortress walls that once marked a great oasis city. Learn about Merv’s rise to power and its tragic destruction by the Mongols. Bukhara

Samarkand

Admire the richly decorated madrasahs and domes. Visit the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, once one of the largest in the Islamic world. Then go to Shah-i-Zinda, a street of stunning blue-tiled mausoleums where noble families and scholars were buried. Samarkand’s beauty, shaped by Timur and his successors, is on full display today – a mix of grandeur, craftsmanship and religious devotion.

Samarkand

Today is a deeper dive into Samarkand’s culture and science. Start at the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum where Timur and his descendants rest beneath a stunning blue dome. This day is a mix of nature and culture, to give you insight into Kazakhstan’s connection to the land and its long-standing traditions. Almaty

Spend the day on a full-day excursion outside Almaty. You can choose to visit Charyn Canyon, with its red rock formations known as the Valley of the Castles. Or Tamgaly, a UNESCO site with ancient rock carvings that tell the stories of early life on the steppes. Or Turgen Gorge, where waterfalls and green valleys offer peaceful walks. Each place will give you a new view of Kazakhstan’s incredible landscapes and ancient past.
