At Asian Geographical, our passion for conserving nature, culture, and wildlife across Asia is deeply rooted in experience. Our CEO, Harish Kohli, was among the first to witness a Snow Leopard in Spiti during his legendary Trans-Himalaya Expedition in the winter of 1981-82. Back then, spotting this elusive predator was an extraordinarily rare privilege, leaving an indelible mark on him.
Decades later, as the world flocks to Spiti in search of this "Ghost of the Mountains," we felt compelled to design an expedition that goes beyond simply spotting the Snow Leopard. Our expert-led journey is about preserving its fragile ecosystem, supporting local communities, and offering a deeply immersive experience.
The Snow Leopard Photography Expedition combines wildlife tracking, photography, and cultural exploration, ensuring a responsible and enriching adventure. By crafting this tour, we honour the pioneering spirit of Harish Kohli's journey while providing travellers with the chance to experience Spiti’s raw wilderness and contribute to its conservation.
