Private Tour
Delhi to Delhi – 14 Days
This immersive 14-day tour travels from New Delhi to the high-altitude landscapes of Ladakh, the scenic beauty of Kashmir, and the colonial charm of Shimla. Begin with Delhi’s historic monuments and vibrant street life before flying to Leh, with daily flights making this remote Himalayan destination accessible year-round. Set at around 3,500 metres above sea level, Leh is the Ladakh region’s cultural and administrative centre, framed by the Ladakh Range and the wider Himalayan backdrop. Acclimatise gradually as you explore ancient monasteries, traditional villages and the Indus Valley, a defining landscape of Ladakh. Experience Tibetan cultural influences and dramatic viewpoints, including a journey on the Leh Highway across high mountain passes and the panoramic heights of Khardungla Pass.
Continue to Srinagar for a softer rhythm on the water, where shikara rides, floating markets and Mughal gardens create a classic Kashmir experience. Visit hilltop temples for wide valley views and take a day trip to Gulmarg for fresh mountain air and optional adventure. The journey concludes in Shimla, where cool forests, hill trails and elegant colonial architecture offer a restful finale in a heritage retreat. Together, Ladakh and Kashmir provide complementary perspectives on the Indian Himalaya—one defined by stark high-altitude wilderness and Buddhist heritage, the other by lakeside serenity, gardens and alpine landscapes—creating a richly varied Kashmir Ladakh region itinerary.
HIGH-ALTITUDE LANDSCAPES IN LADAKH: Explore the dramatic beauty of Ladakh’s mountains, including the dramatic scenery of Nubra Valley with its unique landscape, and Khardungla Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable roads. Visit ancient Buddhist monasteries, remote villages, and serene valleys while adjusting to the region’s altitude and experiencing a deep sense of tranquillity unique to the Himalayas. Enjoy superb trekking opportunities amid breathtaking mountain views.
CULTURAL EXPERIENCES IN LEH: Discover Leh’s rich heritage through guided walks in the Old Town and visits to the Central Asian Museum. Enjoy a private blessing from a Buddhist monk, dine with local people in traditional villages, and gain insight into Ladakh’s spiritual and cultural traditions. Engage with local people and learn about local culture during village visits.
KASHMIR’S LAKES, GARDENS & MARKETS: Enjoy a sunset cruise on Dal Lake, visit vibrant floating markets, and relax in Srinagar’s 17th-century Mughal Gardens. Shop for exquisite Kashmiri rugs and pashminas, and explore historic temples set against the backdrop of Kashmir’s mountain and lake scenery.
COLONIAL CHARM & NATURE IN SHIMLA: Unwind in Shimla’s forested hills, staying in a historic mountain retreat. Enjoy morning yoga, spa treatments, scenic hikes to Jakhu Hill, and explore colonial architecture. Shimla offers a refreshing blend of natural beauty and British-era charm to end your adventure.

Today is a full day of sightseeing in New Delhi. Start with the towering Qutub Minar, a remarkable example of Islamic architecture and a piece of ancient history, then visit the Laxminarayan Temple. Next, head to the India Gate, a beautifully crafted war memorial. Afterwards, visit the National Gallery of Modern Art to see contemporary Indian art. Later, explore the upscale markets where you can buy crafts, textiles and unique souvenirs. This day blends history, art and shopping, so you get a good taste of the city.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Fly to Leh in the beautiful state of Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir. Upon arrival at 11,562 ft above sea level, transfer to your hotel and take the day to acclimatise to the altitude. Enjoy the silence and serenity as you look out at the Himalayan mountains and the rugged surrounding landscape. The rest of the day is yours to absorb the peacefulness—perhaps with a walk or simply by being in nature. Leh’s peacefulness is the perfect setting to rest and rejuvenate, before the adventures ahead.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Wake up to mountain air and go on a heritage walk of the Old City of Leh, led by knowledgeable local guides who share insights into the area’s rich history and culture. Walk through the narrow lanes and visit the Central Asian Museum, which highlights Leh's historical connections to Central Asia and the region's role as a crossroads of trade and culture, and has some fascinating artefacts from the region’s history. In the afternoon, visit a nearby village to experience local life. Take time to visit a monastery, where you can see the monks, learn about their daily routines, and discover the profound influence of Tibetan Buddhism on the region’s culture and traditions. This is an enlightening and peaceful day in one of India’s most spiritual landscapes.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Continue your journey into Ladakhi spirituality with visits to the historic Alchi and Phyang monasteries. These ancient sites will give you a glimpse into the old traditions and beautiful Buddhist art. Have a homely lunch in a local village and enjoy hearty Ladakhi dishes with local people. The highlight of the day is a private blessing ceremony by a Buddhist monk—a very moving experience to connect with local spiritual practice. This will add emotional depth to your trip and give you lasting memories of Ladakh’s culture. In the Markha Valley, community support projects and eco-tourism initiatives play a vital role in sustainable tourism, benefiting local families and contributing to environmental conservation in the region.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Drive to Khardungla Pass, the highest pass on the historic Leh road—one of the world’s highest motorable roads. This scenic and adventurous route, known as the Leh road, offers panoramic views and a sense of achievement as you reach the highest pass. From the top, look out at the Himalayan mountains below—a breathtaking view. After descending back to Leh, spend some time browsing the local handicraft shops in town. Find beautifully made souvenirs like traditional caps, scarves and jewellery that reflect Ladakhi artistry. In the evening, return to your hotel and relax among the mountains, reflecting on the day’s adventure and discoveries.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Leave Leh for Srinagar, a picturesque hill station. Upon arrival, check into the Vivanta by Taj – Dal View, overlooking Lake Dal. As the day fades, enjoy a traditional shikara ride on Lake Dal, gliding across its tranquil waters. Take in the peaceful ambiance as you pass by the houseboats, floating gardens, and Mughal-era gardens, all set against stunning scenery. The lake’s reflections and colours are magical. This is a lovely introduction to Srinagar and sets the tone for your stay in Kashmir’s most beautiful city.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Start the day with a trip to Srinagar's floating market where vendors sell fresh produce from their wooden boats. Enjoy the atmosphere as you drift through a river bazaar unique to this region. Next, visit the Mughal Gardens—Shalimar Bagh or Nishat Bagh—to see the gardens in bloom. Afterwards, visit the Shankaracharya Temple on a hill, for a panoramic view of the city. Finish the day shopping for Kashmir's famous rugs and pashmina shawls, known for their craftsmanship and quality.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Drive for around 90 minutes to the beautiful hill station of Gulmarg. In winter, it's a top ski destination; in summer, the landscape becomes a playground for horseback riding, water-skiing and fishing. Spend the day exploring the gentle slopes and meadows or try a new outdoor activity. If you prefer to relax, enjoy the mountain scenery and fresh air. Gulmarg's natural beauty and recreational options are a nice change from city sightseeing.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Return to Srinagar for a day of outdoor adventure or relaxation. Go for a guided hike in the surrounding hills and return to natural vistas and woodland paths. Alternatively, try angling in Kashmir’s rivers—famous for trout fishing. For a different kind of adventure, consider a jeep safari to explore the scenic and remote areas around Srinagar, offering an exciting way to discover the region’s beauty. If you’d rather go at your own pace, simply unwind in or around your hotel and take in the view of mountains and water. Spend the day in Srinagar as you wish, either a physical challenge or a peaceful break.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Leave Srinagar and fly via Chandigarh to Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh and a renowned Himalayan hill station. Chandigarh is known for its modernist architecture and thoughtful city planning—worth a quick stop if time allows. Upon arrival in Shimla, check into the Windflower Hall, at 8,250 ft. Spend the day to settle in and enjoy the mountain air. Take a short walk near your hotel or simply relax and take in the alpine scenery and let your body adjust to the altitude.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Start the day with a yoga session in the Himalayan morning and a spa treatment. Feeling refreshed, go on a full-day tour of Shimla’s colonial historic core. Admire the Tudorbethan and neo-Gothic architecture that speaks of its British Raj heritage, when Shimla served as the summer capital. Walk past old buildings, including the familiar ridge and colonial-era churches, all set against the pine-clad hills. This day combines relaxation, wellness and history in one.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Your last full day is spent in nature. Trek through dense forests of pine, deodar, oak and rhododendrons. Follow trails to Jakhu Hill, the highest point in Shimla and enjoy the views. Have lunch at a scenic spot on the top and local cuisine while taking in the views. This day is all about being in nature and experiencing Shimla's landscape.
Meals Included: Breakfast
Today, depart Shimla and drive back to New Delhi via Chandigarh. As you travel, think about your amazing journey—from Delhi’s streets to Leh’s monasteries to Kashmir’s beauty to Shimla’s hills. Upon arrival in New Delhi, you will be dropped at the airport for your onward flight. Take back the memories, cultural insights and diverse landscapes that made this trip an incredible India experience. -- If time allows, consider extending your trip to visit the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, a must-see landmark and architectural masterpiece that is often included in sightseeing tours of India.
Meals Included: Breakfast
This journey was inspired by a desire to connect travellers with the extraordinary diversity of northern India’s Himalayan region — a land where ancient cultures, sacred landscapes, and colonial legacies intersect. We wanted to create a route that moved beyond the typical tourist circuit and ventured off the beaten track, offering deeper access to Ladakh’s mountain monasteries, Kashmir’s poetic beauty, and Shimla’s bygone elegance. The itinerary leads you through isolated valleys rarely visited by outsiders, with the excitement of reaching the next valley always promising new vistas and unique encounters.
Our team was moved by personal experiences of sitting quietly in Ladakhi villages, where monks chant under prayer flags fluttering in thin mountain air; by floating through Srinagar’s dawn-lit lakes as flower vendors glide past in silence; and by walking forested trails above Shimla where echoes of history linger in old stone walls. Having visited Kashmir ourselves, we drew on firsthand encounters with its landscapes, history, and spiritual heritage to shape an itinerary that reflects the region’s depth and beauty. Each moment offered peace, reflection, and a stronger bond with the land.
We designed this tour for those seeking not only scenic beauty but also spiritual calm and cultural depth. It is for the curious traveller, the quiet seeker, and the lover of mountains.
GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE: Ladakh, in India’s far north, is a high-altitude cold desert set between the snow-capped Himalayas and the rugged Karakoram range. The Indus River threads through stark valleys and past shimmering lakes, feeding green oases amid an arid landscape of towering peaks, deep gorges and wide plateaus. Rainfall is scarce, giving Ladakh its distinctive clarity and expansive mountain views. Winters are long and severe, with temperatures that can drop to around -30°C, while summers are short, bright and ideal for exploring. This dramatic geography makes Ladakh a magnet for adventurous travellers and nature lovers.
CULTURE AND TRADITION: Ladakh’s culture is shaped by Buddhist traditions and Tibetan influences, expressed through monasteries, prayer flags and daily rituals. At sites such as Thiksey Monastery, prayer wheels turn beside incense-scented halls, creating a powerful sense of calm and spirituality. Monasteries also anchor community life, hosting colourful festivals with masked dances, music and ceremonial processions. Ladakhi hospitality is renowned: visitors are often welcomed with butter tea and simple, hearty food such as thukpa and momos. Traditional clothing, local crafts and village customs remain strong, especially in remote valleys. Whether at a festival or in a quiet gompa, Ladakh feels enduring and deeply authentic.
WILDLIFE AND CONSERVATION: Ladakh’s wilderness supports rare Himalayan wildlife in a fragile, high-altitude ecosystem. The Changthang Plateau is home to migratory birds and hardy species adapted to extreme conditions, while the elusive snow leopard roams remote ridgelines alongside blue sheep and Tibetan antelope. Conservation is central to protecting this biodiversity, with areas such as Hemis High Altitude National Park safeguarding key habitats. Local communities increasingly work with conservationists to reduce conflict and preserve natural resources. For travellers, wildlife encounters are often subtle—tracks in snow, distant silhouettes, sudden movement on a scree slope—but they can be unforgettable, adding depth and purpose to any Himalayan adventure.
NUBRA VALLEY: Nubra Valley, in northern Ladakh, is reached via Khardung La and rewards travellers with landscapes that feel almost surreal. Against a backdrop of high Himalayan peaks, you’ll find green villages, clear streams and surprising sand dunes that hint at ancient trade routes. Diskit Monastery stands above the valley, its white walls and golden roofs creating a striking focal point for cultural discovery. Nubra is also a wonderful place for gentle treks, village walks and wide-open viewpoints. In summer, the valley’s colour and scale are particularly memorable, and experiences such as riding a Bactrian camel add a distinctive desert-meets-mountain character.
HOUSEBOAT STAY: A houseboat stay on Dal Lake in Srinagar is a classic Kashmir experience, combining tranquil waters with old-world charm. With snow-capped mountains and Mughal gardens nearby, these floating homes offer a peaceful base and a unique perspective on the Kashmir Valley. Many houseboats feature intricate carved woodwork and the comforts of luxury accommodation, with local cuisine served on board. Wake to shikaras gliding past and the soft sounds of lake life, then spend the day birdwatching, strolling the lakeside, or simply relaxing on deck with a cup of kahwa. As sunset colours the water, Dal Lake feels timeless.
