Victoria Sapa Resort: Mountain Luxury in Vietnam

Victoria Sapa Resort is a French-run 4-star chain in Vietnam, located in the heart of Sa Pa, in northern Vietnam. Set on a hill and surrounded with manicured gardens, it has 77 spacious rooms and suites. Modelled after a mountain lodge, it has varnished wood interiors, stone fireplaces and terraces with views over Sapa valley. The restaurant creates traditional cuisine with a modern twist, an indoor pool helps to cool off after trek and the spa offering provide ultimate relaxation.

Stay Victoria Sapa Resort features 77 spacious rooms and suites. All rooms decorated in a blend of Tonkinese and Alpine styles with high ceilings, polished wooden floors, plush beds draped in fine linen and ground to ceiling glass windows. Each room has a private terrace or balcony with views over the town or of the surrounding mountains. Rooms feature minibars, TV with cable, Wi-Fi connection and bathrooms with spring water baths and hair dryers. 

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at The Victoria Sapa Resort. There are two Family Studios with interconnected rooms. There is a Victoria Kids Club for over 2's with games, DVDs and toys. Babycots are available on request and restaurants have baby menus. Babysitting can be arranged, upon request. 

Dine There is an in-house, Ta Van Restaurant at the Victoria Sapa Resort has a large central fireplace for a cozy atmosphere in the winter, and a terrace for al fresco dining in the summer. The restaurant features a Parisian-trained chef and offers Vietnamese and French cuisine, using fresh produce and locally grown herbs and spices. There is also a cosy bar with open fireplace. Saturday evenings sees traditional Hmong and Thai dancing laid on for entertainment.

Relax Leisure facilities at the Victoria Sapa Resort include an indoor swimming pool, and a spa offering a range of therapies. There is a sauna, an outdoor tennis court, gym and a billiards table. 

Experience The gateway to the Tonkinese Alps, Sa Pa is heaven for adventurers interested in trekking, mountain-biking and nature lovers. Victoria Sapa Resort can arrange guided trekking or cycling tours to nearby villages. Expect to meet over five different ethnic tribes, an abundance of orchids and stunning alpine scenery. This area is fascinating to explore either independently or with a guide and many days can be enjoyed soaking up the colourful culture and mesmerising scenery.
 


 

Location Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa is located in the town of Sapa, among the Hoang Lien Mountains, 380km (236 miles) northwest of Hanoi, in Lao Cai Province. Near the Chinese border, this property also has Silver Waterfall, Hoang Lien National Park, Heavens Gate and Giang Ta Cheri in its vicinity.

Getting there 15-hour international flight (one change) to Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport. From Hanoi, the only way to get to Sapa is by overnight train (11-hours). Victoria has its own carriages on one of the overnight trains, which are reserved for hotel guests.

When to go Generally good weather throughout the year. The finest weather of the year extends from October to April with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C. December to February are the coldest months, with temperatures reaching 18°C. The monsoon prevails from May till September with stronger breezes and higher humidity with limited rainfall. Temperatures are warmer during this time, varying between 25°C to 35°C. Most rain failing in July and August and typhoons are possible.
