Halong Violet is the newest and most luxurious junk cruising the waters of Halong Bay in northeast Vietnam. With only six cabins, it offers the most intimate and exclusive experience of cruising Halong Bay. It has just 6 cabins: two Violet Deluxe Cabins each with king size bed, walk in shower, bath and private balcony and four decadent upper-deck Imperial Suites complete with large windows and private balconies for expansive views of the bay. The decor is stylish, Italian marble and in-cabin amenities include air conditioning, mini bar, private balcony, LCD TV and DVD, and even a jacuzzi.
ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay aboard the Halong Violet but there are no specific facilities available for children, however inter-connecting cabins are available for families. Children under 5 stay for free in parents' room (only applicable when occupied by 2 adults); 1 child max per cabin. There are also 2 extra beds per junk available at a supplement cost. Children will love the excitement of an ocean adventure but safety of children remains the responsibility of parents.
Dine The Halong Violet’s beautifully decorated and intimate dining area serves brunch and informal buffet lunches that include Vietnamese cuisine with a focus on fresh catch of the day. Unwinding on the deck with a glass of chilled champagne as the sun sinks slowly into Halong Bay is simply a must. Dinners are equally indulgent with three course meals finishing with a dessert.
Relax Halong Violet has a comfortable lounge, boutique and informative library. There is also a lovely bar which is a great place to get to know fellow travellers and a Spa with full floor to ceiling glass windows to marvel at the beauty of the untouched nature at Lan Ha Bay whilst receiving massage treatments.
Experience Activities during your stay on board Halong Violet include boat trips to beautiful deserted beaches and unspoilt fishing villages. Headline attractions include Sung Sot Cave, Pelican Cave or Titop Island. Also included are the popular Bright and Dark Caves and the Dau Go Cave. On longer itineraries you will explore further afield heading out to Cat Ba Island and Bai Tu Long Bay stopping off at fishing villages and local villages. Activities also include fishing, cycling, swimming and snorkelling.
Location 170 kilometres from Hanoi, in northeastern Vietnam, Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage site and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Getting there 15-hour international flight (one change) to Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport followed by a 3-hour drive to Halong Bay.
When to go The best time of year to visit Halong Bay is during the spring or autumn. Because the bay is situated in the northern part of the country, it can get colder in the winter. The rainy season here is at its peak in July to September. July is the hottest month, January the coolest. The dry season runs from November to April.
