The Anam is an award-winning resort, set on a Long Beach near Nha Trang, in southeast Vietnam. Elegant, distinctive and utterly luxurious, it encapsulates both colonial-era charm and the relaxed atmosphere of a seaside holiday. Nestled within bougainvillea, palm trees and surrounding a lagoon-like pool are 96 rooms and 117 villas. Three gourmet restaurants offer Pan-Asian cuisine and guests have a full menu of recreational activities, including watersports, as well as access to the Balinese-style spa. For younger children, there is a good kids club, which offers indoor and outdoor activities.
Amenities
Stay The Anam features 96 rooms and 117 villas spread across the 12-hectare grounds. Spacious rooms are set in a five-floor building and offer views over the manicured lawns or towards the sea from good sized balconies. Individual, one-bedroom villas are dotted throughout the tropical gardens, most of which feature a private pool. The interiors are slick and contemporary: mosaic tiles and wood-panel floors with dark wood furniture, softened with white linens. Elegant bathrooms come with sunken bathtubs, rain-showers, and hand-made French lotions and toiletries.
ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at The Anam. There is a good kids club offering lots of activities for children to keep them entertained. Babysitting service can be arranged, upon request.
Dine There are three restaurants and two bars at The Anam. The IndoChine restaurant with a colonial-era charm is the resorts signature restaurant and serves a fusion of Western, Asian and Vietnamese cuisines. The fine dining Colonial Restaurant specializes in European dishes with a focus on classical French cuisine. The beachfront Sports Bar is packed with board games and large-screen TVs showing sporting events, while the stylish Saigon Bar offers classic cocktails, wine and spirits.
Relax The Anam has a tranquil 10-room Sri Mana Spa with treatments inspired by Balinese traditions and healing rituals. There is a fully-equipped gym, tennis court, badminton and complimentary early-morning beachfront yoga session and many water sports on offer as well three swimming pools to keep guests occupied. The resort also has its own 60-seat cinema where every day two films are shown in the 3D cinema, one for children and the other for adults.
Experience Outside The Anam, guests can hike to Ba Ho Waterfalls where you can swim under the falls. Visit the Alexandre Yersin Museum which provides insight into the life and work of a Swiss-French physician. One day take a ‘four island’ boat trip and visit Mun, Mot, Mieu and Tam islands and the Po Nagar Cham Towers dating back to the 7th- and 12th-century. Alternatively, there is a beautiful Greg Norman designed golf course nearby, and two further courses in Nha Trang.
Location The Anam is located on Long Beach; a 300-metre stretch of golden sand on the coast of Vietnam, close to Nha Trang.
Getting there The Anam is only 20-minutes by car from Cam Ranh International Airport, which can be accessed by domestic flight from either Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi.
When to go The best time to visit Nha Trang is between March and April, although anytime during the dry season (January to August) is good. Nha Trang is protected by the Truong Son mountains and this costal region of Vietnam is generally sunny all year round, with the exception of the wet season from August to mid-December, when you can expect strong sea breezes and chilly, wet weather.
