Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu is located about half an hour’s drive from the centre of town. Designed in keeping with the traditional Nepali style of Newari architecture, with its many courtyards, complete with stone carvings and huge timber pillars. A beautiful driveway leads up to a courtyard, through well-manicured and spacious, 37-acre gardens to a well decorated lobby.
The Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu holds 280 luxury rooms and suites. Rooms have wooden floors, decorated with Tibetan hand-woven rugs and feature king size beds. Spacious bathrooms come with a large marble bath and walk-in showers. Most rooms have views of the famous Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most holy Tibetan sites outside Tibet, as well as the surrounding Himalayan mountain ranges.
Dining options at the Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu, include the main 'Rox' restaurant, set on three levels offering traditional home-style and European cuisine. We think the quality of food was excellent and, for those with a sweet tooth, desserts were exceptional. Try the Australian tenderloin as a main dish. The bar, also called Rox offers a wide selection of beverages. There is a good size pool and those who like to play a game of golf, can visit the Royal Nepal Gokarna Forest golf course.

When to go Nepal like the rest of the Gangetic plains has four seasons. Autumn and spring are the two most favourable seasons for visiting Nepal. The Spring (March to May) is good for treks when forests are full of rhododendrons in bloom. The heat wave runs through May until monsoon arrives in mid-June and stays until August. But in September, when the rains stop, the weather is balmy, the air is crip and the sky is clear; it is the perfect time to visit Nepal.
