The Leela Palace New Delhi is an opulent hotel, set in the heart of the prestigious Diplomatic Enclave in New Delhi. The hotel represents the grace and elegance of Rajasthan palaces and the colonial splendour of Lutyen’s Delhi, a magnificent architectural blend that creates a truly out of this world experience. The royal service begins with a pick up in a 7 series BMW at the airport, then a grand welcome by larger than life stone elephants at the porch and the hospital hotel staff.
Spread out within seven floors of the Leela Palace New Delhi are 254 rooms and suites. All are spacious in size and equipped with the latest technology, full entertainment system and Wi-Fi. Attention to detail is noticeable in every aspect of the hotel; there are gold-leafed domes, fitted with Murano chandeliers from Italy, hand-woven carpets from Turkey and an impressive international art collection, as well as a team of hospitable staff who can accomplish the near-impossible.
Facilities at the Leela Palace New Delhi include five restaurants offering a range of Indian and intercontinental cuisines. The rooftop swimming pool overlooks the green part of the Diplomatic Enclave and the spacious Leela Spa offers calming techniques like the Swedish massage for overall well-being to tapping age-old, Oriental techniques. In the surrounds are historical sites of Qutub Minar, a 1,000-year-old minaret, contemporary style Lotus Temple and Humayun's Tomb.

When to go The best time to travel to India is between September and March, when the weather is most pleasant. Summer starts in April and by June, it becomes very hot. By July there is the south-west monsoon, which brings heavy rains to the west coast. Although the word "monsoon" often brings to mind images of torrential floods and landslides, it is not a bad time to travel. The downpour tends to come and go quickly, leaving behind a clean, glistening landscape.
