The Samaya Ubud is a stylish resort, set on the outskirts of Ubud, in central Bali. Ubud, Bali's spiritual heart, appeals because of its strong sense of Balinese tradition and the verdant peaceful tropical countryside which surrounds it. Perfectly placed, close enough to cultural Ubud for easy visits and far away enough to enjoy Bali’s natural tropical beauty, Samaya Ubud offers a faultless blend of contemporary style, old-fashioned hospitality and timeless tropical views.
Spread along the Ayung River, the Samaya Ubud features just 19 Villas. Each villa has an elegant design, filled with natural light and its own private lap pool, surrounded by a lush tropical garden. Guests can enjoy an al fresco breakfast near the river and a truly unique dining experience at the Swept-Away restaurant. Samaya Ubud's spa and wellness centre perched over the Ayung River offers an idyllic spot for relaxation or treatments can be enjoyed in your villa.
Popular activities at the Samaya Ubud are trekking along the Campuhan Ridge or visiting the Monkey Forest. The island's artistic tradition is well known and there are hundreds of painters and sculptors based around Ubud. Almost every village has a cottage industry dedicated to silver or batik where you can browse for cashmere scarves, silver jewellery and silk batik beach dresses. Adventure enthusiasts can explore the surrounds, biking, hiking and nature walks with temple visits.

Experience The Samaya Ubud in the uplands of Bali, surrounded with rainforest and terraced rice paddies, provides a beautiful landscape dotted with Hindu temples. Guests can venture on foot or bicycle through the fields and villages and take elephant rides. A number of temples are within a short drive of Samaya Ubud including Pura Agung Gunung Raung and Jalan Raya Goa Gajah ‘Elephant Cave’. Also take private guided Kintamani Volcano Tour and visit Taman Burung Bali Bird Park.
Location Spectacularly located amid the rice fields and verdant hillsides of Bali's lush interior, only 15 minutes to the centre of Ubud.
Getting there Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport (17 hours), is served by many international airlines. You can also fly to Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, then travel overland or take a connecting flight to Denpasar. Samaya Ubud is a 75-minute drive from Denpasar International Airport. The hotel provides a local area shuttle and airport pick-up service.
When to go Bali’s climate is warm and humid, temperatures averaging between 21°C and 31°C. Short bursts of rain occur from November until April, making the velvet green landscape come alive. April to October is the dry season, although in hilly Ubud, you rarely feel too hot. Festival periods can get busier. In Ubud, however, you never feel the crowds. This is the advantage Ubud has over the south coast area that can get packed to bursting around August, Christmas and New Year.
