Yerevan to Yerevan – 7 Days
This Classic Armenia Heritage Tour is a 7-day journey that immerses you into the vibrant culture and rich history of Armenia. Starting in the lively capital of Yerevan, this Armenia tour will show you how ancient traditions blend with modern life. Accompanied by your expert Asian Geographical local guide, you will visit significant landmarks including the Armenian Genocide Memorial and Yerevan Brandy Factory, and taste the city’s delicious food and celebrated wines.
The journey continues beyond the capital city Yerevan, and will reveal Armenia’s spiritual side with visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Zvartnots Cathedral and Echmiadzin. As one of the oldest nations in the Caucasus, Armenia stands out for its enduring identity and historical relationships with neighbouring nations. You will also explore the stunning natural beauty of the countryside, including Lake Sevan, and historic monasteries of Khor Virap and Noravank monasteries, against the backdrop of Mount Ararat. This classic Armenia heritage tour will give you a rich experience, connecting you with the many faces of this amazing country.
MOUNT ARARAT VIEWS & KHOR VIRAP MONASTERY: Visit the legendary Khor Virap Monastery, dramatically set against the snow-capped backdrop of Mount Ararat. This sacred site, where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned, offers both spiritual depth and panoramic views across the Ararat Plain. It's one of Armenia’s most iconic landmarks and a must-see for heritage travellers.
TATEV MONASTERY & WINGS OF TATEV CABLEWAY: Experience the awe of Tatev Monastery, perched above a deep gorge and reached by the record-breaking Wings of Tatev cableway. This medieval site was once a major centre of learning and faith. Enjoy sweeping views and discover centuries of Armenian history in one of the country’s most scenic settings.
GEGHARD MONASTERY & GARNI TEMPLE: Explore Armenia’s dual spiritual heritage at Geghard Monastery and Garni Temple. Geghard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its cave-carved sanctuaries. Nearby, Garni Temple stands as Armenia’s only surviving pagan monument. Together, they reflect the nation’s unique transition from ancient beliefs to early Christianity.
ARMENIAN WINE IN ARENI & NORAVANK MONASTERY: Savour Armenia’s viticultural roots in Areni, home to the world’s oldest winery. Enjoy a tasting amid sun-drenched vineyards before visiting Noravank Monastery, framed by towering red cliffs. This 13th-century treasure blends history, landscape, and spiritual architecture in one of the most visually striking regions of the country.
The difference with the Asian Geographical is, that each of our holidays is designed with extreme precision of a mountaineering expedition.
