This epic journey is a perfect blend of exploration and relaxation, to the diverse landscapes and rich histories of South Korea and Okinawa. Experience the city life, traditions and natural beauty that defines this amazing adventure.
SEOUL'’S CULTURE AND FOOD: Walk through Seoul'’s old palaces and quiet village streets. Try on a hanbok and learn to make kimchi. Taste local food at markets like Namdaemun and enjoy the mix of old and new. It'’s a great way to learn about life and traditions in South Korea'’s capital.
ANDONG AND GYEONGJU'’S HISTORY: Visit old towns and temples in South Korea. In Andong, see a traditional village and watch a folk dance. In Gyeongju, explore famous temples and stone carvings. These places show how people lived long ago and why they are important in Korean history.

Walk through streets filled with local crafts and pottery. Okinawa has a fun mix of island life, friendly people, and tasty food you won'’t forget.
ISLAND LIFE IN TAKETOMI: Stay in a peaceful island resort with white beaches and clear sea. Ride in a water buffalo cart through a small village. Go biking, swimming, or snorkelling around nearby islands. Taketomi offers a relaxing contrast to the busier main island of Okinawa and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Japan'’s southern islands.

Travel from South Korea to Okinawa on a fun and relaxing holiday. Visit palaces, learn local traditions, try tasty street food, and explore colourful markets. Then head to Okinawa, the main Okinawa island for beautiful beaches, island life, and fresh seafood. This journey mixes culture, nature, and rest across two exciting Asian places.
Upon arrival in Seoul, check into either the Conrad or Four Seasons, both 5-star hotels with stunning city views. In the evening, be mesmerized by the NANTA show, a unique South Korean performance that combines music, comedy and non-verbal storytelling. This is your introduction to Seoul’s cultural scene.
Spend the day exploring Seoul’s mosaic of historical and modern attractions. Start with Gyeongbokgung Palace, a 14th-century Joseon Dynasty palace where the gardens and hand-painted ceilings will give you a glimpse into Korea’s royal past. Visit the N Seoul Tower, a symbol of the city’s skyline and attach a lock to its railing. Wander through Namdaemun Market, Seoul’s oldest and largest market and taste traditional Korean food. Continue to Bukchon Hanok Village, a living museum of over 800 traditional Korean houses and immerse yourself in the cultural heritage by making kimchi and wearing the elegant hanbok, Korea’s traditional attire.
After breakfast, head to Yeongju and Andong. In Yeongju, visit the famous Ponggi Ginseng Market and then delve into the rustic charm of Andong. Here, enjoy the savory Andong jjimdak (steamed chicken). Visit the Pungsan Hanji traditional paper factory and learn about Korean papermaking. The highlight of Andong is the Hahoe Folk Village, a 600-year-old Joseon Dynasty village and UNESCO World Heritage site. This historic village preserves ancient folk traditions and offers a mask dance and drama performance that brings Korea’s cultural heritage to life.
Journey to Gyeongju, a treasure trove of historical sites, once the heart of the Silla dynasty and known as the "open-air museum". En route, stop in Yeongdeok to taste the fresh local snow crab. In Gyeongju, visit the serene Bulguksa Temple, a masterpiece of Buddhist art and UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through the Seokguram Grotto, home to remarkable Buddhist carvings and end the day at Haeinsa Temple, another World Heritage site famous for its extensive collection of Buddhist scriptures. This day is a deep dive into Korea’s spiritual and historical landscapes.
Start the day with a peaceful walk around Anapji Pond and then hike through the beautiful trails of Namsan Mountain in Gyeongju National Park where you can see Silla-era relics amidst the natural beauty. Next, head to Busan, a city famous for its street food, beautiful beaches and hot springs. Check into the Park Hyatt and rest for a bit before experiencing a local hot spring spa where you can enjoy traditional Korean spa snacks. End the day with a leisurely walk along Haeundae Beach and go on a street food tour to try Busan’s culinary delights including the must-try ssiat hotteok.
Get into the heart of Busan, starting with the scenic Yonggungsa Temple perched over the East Sea. Visit the bustling Jagalchi Fish Market, a cornerstone of Busan’s maritime culture. Explore the colourful Gamcheon Culture Village and then try the local craft beer in Nampodong. Walk through the vast Gukje Market for a traditional market experience. End the day at Taejongdae, a beautiful coastal park where you can indulge in the freshest shellfish from the clam tents along the shore, and wrap up your journey through Busan’s cultural and natural attractions.
Fly to Naha, a city that seamlessly blends history with modern culture. Start your Okinawan adventure with a visit to Shuri Castle, an emblem of the Ryukyu Kingdom’s rich history, restored to its former glory where royal rooms and gardens await to tell the stories of the past. The culinary journey continues at Makishi Public Market, famous for its fresh local seafood. Here, choose your favourites and have them prepared on the spot and taste the authentic Okinawan flavours. Walk through Naha’s arcade streets, a treasure trove of shops and stalls and explore the Tsuboya neighbourhood, famous for its traditional Okinawan pottery and capture the essence of the island’s artistic heritage.
Explore Okinawa’s natural wonders. Visit Busena Marine Park to see the marine life in its crystal-clear waters and cross the bridge to the beautiful Kouri Island, a haven of peace and tranquillity. The journey takes you to the Churaumi Aquarium, one of the largest aquariums in the world where you can see over 25,000 aquatic creatures including the majestic whale sharks and manta rays. This day is an immersion into the marine biodiversity that makes Okinawa a unique and magical destination.
After breakfast, a short flight to Ishigaki Island and then a ferry ride brings you to the pristine shores of Taketomi Island. Check into Hoshinoya Taketomi, a luxury resort with private villas that offer a secluded retreat. Spend the day relaxing on the island’s white-sand beaches or cycling through its scenic landscapes, visiting holy sites and the traditional village. Discover the island’s weaving culture at a local centre, a testament to Taketomi’s preservation of Ryukyu heritage in its natural beauty.
Start the day with a water buffalo wagon tour through Taketomi’s village and see the island’s peaceful lifestyle. Consider a day trip to Ishigaki Island, a paradise for water lovers with its clear waters and vibrant coral reefs perfect for diving, snorkelling and swimming. Ishigaki also has a lively restaurant and café scene so you can try local cuisine before returning to the peaceful retreat of Taketomi Island.
Enjoy another relaxing day in Taketomi, with a recommended trip to the surrounding islands, such as Iriomote Island, home to the rare Iriomote wildcat and Hateruma Island, famous for its beautiful beaches and great snorkelling. These excursions will give you a chance to experience the diverse ecosystems and untouched beauty of Okinawa’s island chain, from jungles to beaches, of the region.
Your trip ends as you take the complimentary hotel shuttle to the pier and then ferry back to Ishigaki Island. From there, depart for Tokyo and connect to your onward flight, with the memories of your journey from the historical and urban South Korea to the natural paradise and cultural heritage of Okinawa and its islands.
