DAY 1

Colombo

Arrive in Colombo and begin your luxury tour of Sri Lanka. A friendly team will greet you and take you to your hotel. Settle in and relax at your elegant accommodation. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel or head out to try local dishes like Sri Lankan curry. Colombo’s streets are full of energy, with colonial buildings, colourful markets, and a lively waterfront. This first night gives you time to unwind and get ready for an exciting journey through some of the most beautiful and cultural parts of the island.

DAY 2

Sigiriya

Travel to Anuradhapura, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the way, stop at Munneswaram Temple, an ancient Hindu temple with a long history. In Anuradhapura, explore ruined palaces, towering stupas, and the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi tree. Learn about the ancient kings and their impressive city planning. Later, continue your drive to Sigiriya. This peaceful town is surrounded by jungle and rock formations. Check in at your hotel and relax, ready for more cultural highlights waiting for you tomorrow.

DAY 3

Sigiriya

After breakfast, visit Polonnaruwa, a city filled with beautifully preserved ruins from the 12th century. Explore the palace, statues, and temples, and visit the local Archaeological Museum for more insights. Enjoy a traditional lunch with a local family to experience true Sri Lankan hospitality. In the afternoon, you can choose to go on an elephant ride through Habarana’s jungle. End your day at the Dambulla Cave Temple, home to colourful Buddha statues and murals. Return to your Sigiriya hotel, having explored another chapter of Sri Lanka’s rich history.

DAY 4

Sigiriya

Wake up early and head to the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sights. Climb up to see ancient frescoes, beautiful gardens, and the grand Lion Gate. From the top, enjoy sweeping views of the lush landscape. Have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Namal Uyana, Asia’s largest ironwood forest. Walk through the forest and see the rare pink quartz mountain, a unique natural wonder. Return to your hotel for a peaceful evening surrounded by nature and history.

Trincomalee

Drive to Trincomalee, a coastal city with a deep natural harbour and a laid-back vibe. Start your visit at Koneswaram Temple, perched high on a cliff overlooking the sea. Then head to the Kanniya Hot Water Wells, known for their healing powers. In the afternoon, relax on the sandy beaches or take a walk along the peaceful coastline. Trincomalee is a perfect place to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. Spend the night at a beachside hotel, listening to the sound of the waves.

Trincomalee

Explore more of Trincomalee’s culture and nature. Visit the Girihandusaya Temple in Thiriyai, an ancient Buddhist site with a beautiful dagoba. Afterwards, take a boat trip to Pigeon Island National Marine Park. This protected area is full of colourful coral reefs, tropical fish, and nesting turtles. Enjoy swimming, snorkelling, or simply relaxing by the water. Return to your hotel in the evening for a quiet night by the beach. The day offers a lovely mix of history, wildlife, and the calm of the ocean.

DAY 7

Kandy

Travel inland to the charming city of Kandy. On the way, stop at a Spice Garden in Matale to learn about the herbs and spices that grow in Sri Lanka. Enjoy a cooking demonstration and a tasty lunch in a rice field setting. Afterwards, visit a beautifully decorated Hindu temple in Matale. Continue on to Kandy and explore the Temple of the Tooth, one of Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist sites. Stay overnight in Kandy, surrounded by hills and greenery, where tradition and nature come together.

Kandy

Begin your day at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, home to thousands of plant species including orchids, palms, and medicinal herbs. Walk through the peaceful gardens and take in the natural beauty. In the afternoon, discover more of Kandy’s heritage and visit local markets and temples. In the evening, enjoy a colourful cultural show with music and dance that reflects the traditions of the region. Return to your hotel for another night in Kandy, full of local charm and elegant surroundings.

DAY 9

Nuwara Eliya

Drive to Nuwara Eliya, a lovely hill town known for its cool climate, tea estates, and colonial architecture. Stop at a tea factory to see how Ceylon tea is made and taste fresh brews. Take a walk through the town to admire its gardens, lake, and old buildings that give it a British feel. Check in to the Grand Hotel, a heritage property with a peaceful garden setting. Enjoy a relaxing evening and perhaps dine under the stars or try local dishes at one of the town’s cosy restaurants.

DAY 10

Nuwara Eliya

Set out early for Horton Plains National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most scenic natural areas. Have a picnic breakfast surrounded by rolling hills and misty plains. Walk to “World’s End,” a dramatic cliff with stunning views. The park is home to many animals and rare birds, so keep your eyes open as you walk the trails. Spend time in the peaceful highlands before heading back to Nuwara Eliya. Unwind at your hotel in the evening, enjoying the cool weather and the calm atmosphere of this beautiful hill town.

DAY 11

Yala National Park

Leave Nuwara Eliya and drive towards Yala National Park. On the way, stop in Ella for a short break and enjoy panoramic views of the hills and valleys. Arrive at Yala and get ready for an afternoon safari. The park is famous for its leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and many birds. Ride through the wilderness in a jeep, watching for wildlife in their natural habitat. After the safari, check in to your hotel or lodge near the park, where you can relax and share stories from the day’s adventure.

DAY 12

Galle

Drive to Galle, a coastal town rich in history and colonial charm. Along the way, visit the Mulkirigala Rock Monastery, a peaceful religious site with ancient cave temples. Then explore the colourful Wewurukannala Temple, home to one of Sri Lanka’s tallest seated Buddha statues. Continue your journey to Galle and check into your hotel. The town is known for its Dutch Fort, narrow streets, and sea views. Spend the evening strolling through the old town or enjoying fresh seafood by the coast.

DAY 13

Galle

Start the day with a walk around the Dutch Fort, where old colonial buildings line cobbled streets. Visit the Galle National Museum to see collections of historic weapons, tools, and local crafts. Later, explore the peaceful Yatagala Temple and the more modern Rhumasala Temple, both offering quiet spaces and sea views. Take time to relax and enjoy your hotel’s comfort on your final night. DAY 14

Colombo - Departure

Enjoy your final breakfast in Sri Lanka before your drive back to Colombo. Depending on your flight time, you may have a short stop along the way. Once at the airport, check in for your flight home. As you depart, take with you wonderful memories of Sri Lanka’s wildlife, ancient cities, peaceful beaches, and friendly people.
