Colombo

Arrive at Colombo airport and begin your luxury tour of Sri Lanka. Colombo, a cosmopolitan city known for its vibrant blend of colonial heritage, modern eateries, and cultural diversity, welcomes you. A friendly team will greet you and take you to your hotel. Settle in and relax at your elegant accommodation. Consider taking a city tour of Colombo to explore key landmarks such as the newly restored fort complex, Independence Memorial Hall, and the lively waterfront. These must-see sites offer a comprehensive introduction to the city's highlights. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel or head out to try local dishes like Sri Lankan curry. DAY 2

Sigiriya

Travel to Anuradhapura, the ancient city that served as the ancient capital of Sri Lanka and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Undoubtedly the grandest city of ancient Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura is renowned for its fascinating history and remarkable archaeological significance. On the way, stop at Munneswaram Temple, an ancient Hindu temple with a long history. In Anuradhapura, explore the city ruins where the remnants of palaces, towering stupas, and the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi tree stand as testaments to the achievements of ancient kings. The city ruins lie scattered across this ancient garden city built with impressive planning and vision. Later, continue your drive to Sigiriya. This peaceful town is surrounded by jungle and rock formations. Check in at your hotel and relax, ready for more cultural highlights waiting for you tomorrow.

Sigiriya

After breakfast, visit Polonnaruwa, a city filled with beautifully preserved ruins from the 12th century. Sigiriya

Wake up early and head to the famous Sigiriya, an ancient citadel and one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sights. Climb up to see ancient frescoes, beautiful gardens, and the grand Lion Gate. From the top, enjoy sweeping views of the lush landscape and the surrounding hills. Have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Namal Uyana, Asia’s largest ironwood forest. Walk through the forest and see the rare pink quartz mountain, a unique natural wonder, and take in the presence of a nearby sacred mountain peak that adds to the spiritual landscape. Trincomalee

Drive to Trincomalee, a coastal city on the less visited east coast of Sri Lanka, known for its deep natural harbour and laid-back vibe. Start your visit at Koneswaram Temple, perched high on a cliff overlooking the sea. Then head to the Kanniya Hot Water Wells, known for their healing powers. Trincomalee

Explore more of Trincomalee’s culture and nature. Visit the Girihandusaya Temple in Thiriyai, an ancient Buddhist site with a beautiful dagoba. Afterwards, take a boat trip to Pigeon Island National Marine Park. This protected area is full of colourful coral reefs, tropical fish, and nesting turtles. Enjoy swimming, snorkelling, or simply relaxing by the water. For those interested in further wildlife and scenic exploration, consider a Madu River safari, where you can experience a peaceful boat tour through mangroves, spot monitor lizards and birds, and learn about the region's natural beauty. Return to your hotel in the evening for a quiet night by the beach. The day offers a lovely mix of history, wildlife, and the calm of the ocean.

DAY 7

Kandy

Travel inland to the charming city of Kandy. On the way, stop at a Spice Garden in Matale to learn about the herbs and spices that grow in Sri Lanka. Enjoy a cooking demonstration and a tasty lunch in a rice field setting. Afterwards, visit a beautifully decorated Hindu temple in Matale. Continue on to Kandy and explore the Temple of the Tooth, one of Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist sites, where the sacred relic is kept in a heavily guarded room housing Buddha's tooth. Kandy

DAY 9

Nuwara Eliya

Enjoy a leisurely journey through the scenic hill country as you drive to Nuwara Eliya, a lovely hill town known for its cool climate, tea plantations, and colonial architecture. Stop at a tea plantation to see how Ceylon tea is made, learn about traditional processing methods, and taste fresh brews while taking in views of the surrounding tea plantations. Take a walk through the town to admire its gardens, lake, and old buildings that give it a British feel. Check in to the Grand Hotel, a heritage property with a peaceful garden setting. Enjoy a relaxing evening and perhaps dine under the stars or try local dishes at one of the town’s cosy restaurants.

DAY 10

Nuwara Eliya

Set out early for Horton Plains National Park, one of Sri Lanka's most scenic natural areas. Have a picnic breakfast surrounded by rolling hills and misty plains. Walk to “World's End,” a dramatic cliff with stunning views. The park is home to many animals and rare birds, so keep your eyes open as you walk the trails. Spend time in the peaceful highlands before heading back to Nuwara Eliya. Unwind at your hotel in the evening, enjoying the cool weather and the calm atmosphere of this beautiful hill town.

Yala National Park

Leave Nuwara Eliya and drive towards Yala National Park. On the way, stop in Ella for a short break and enjoy panoramic views of the hills and valleys. Consider visiting Udawalawe National Park, another notable wildlife destination in Sri Lanka, where you can also explore the renowned elephant transit home—a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and rehabilitating orphaned elephants before their release into the wild. Galle

Colombo - Departure

Enjoy your final breakfast in Sri Lanka before your drive back to Colombo. Depending on your flight time, you may have a short stop along the way. Once at the airport, check in for your flight home.
