Villa Romonea is a modern luxury villa available for rent on the coast of Cambodia in Kep. Designed in contemporary lifestyle by Lu Ban Happ, a key figure in the Le Corbusier-inspired New Khmer Architecture movement, it is one of the few surviving private mansions of Kep’s golden era in the 1960s. Built in 1968 and fully renovated in 2010, Villa Romonea is primarily for holiday rental, but it also offers individual rooms at weekends.
Knai Bang Chatt Resort is a small property, designed in minimalist style, adapted from the ancient Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi. Lying in the dappled shade of a stumpy tree on Koh Tonsay, or Rabbit Island, just off the Cambodian coastal village Kep, one feels an overwhelming calm. It comprises three Le Corbusier–influenced villas and one modern house, to form one intimate retreat. This historic property offers 11 minimalist-chic rooms with views of either the calm Gulf of Thailand or artfully landscaped gardens.
