Embark on a journey to Mt Koya, a prominent Buddhist centre. Enjoy the scenic train ride to the mountain, switching to a funicular for the final ascent. Here, you will stay overnight in a monastery, get a taste of shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine), and observe the monks' prayer routines.
