Your tour starts in Tokyo, where you'll meet your Chief Experience Officer (CEO) and group members at a welcome meeting. Spend your first day acquainting yourself with the city's vibrant streets. Day 2 takes you to Kanazawa on a bullet train, ready to explore its cultural heritage, including the Higashi Geisha District and Kenroku-En Garden. Next, you'll journey to the picturesque town of Takayama, with its tranquil atmosphere and local sake breweries.
In Hiroshima, visit the moving Peace Park and Museum, then ferry to Miyajima Island to see the iconic floating Torii Gate. Kyoto awaits with its rich cultural tapestry, including visits to Fushimi Inari Shrine, Nijo Castle, and Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion). Utilise a free day in Kyoto to explore its Zen gardens and traditional tea houses. The journey continues to the Mt Fuji region, offering serene walks around Lake Kawaguchi and a relaxing Onsen Spa experience. Here you can familiarize yourself with the tour's agenda, ask any questions you might have, and get to know your travel companions. There's no scheduled activities for the rest of the day, so you can explore Tokyo at your own pace.

Your day starts in Tokyo where you'll collect your Japan Rail (JR) Pass, which offers convenient access to Japan's extensive rail network. In the afternoon, you'll board a bullet train for Kanazawa, a beautifully preserved castle town known for its rich cultural and artistic heritage. Once you arrive, the rest of the evening is yours to discover the city. You have the option to attend a group dinner to sample some local cuisine and get to know your fellow travellers better.

Today is full of exploration. You'll start with a visit to the city's well-preserved Higashi Geisha District, a historical area where you can learn about the geisha culture, which has been prevalent in Kanazawa since the 17th century. Then, you'll visit the stunning Kenroku-En Garden, considered one of Japan's top three gardens. This breathtaking landscape is home to unique bridges, ponds, fountains, pagodas, and tea houses. Later in the day, you'll get a glimpse into the city's samurai history during a walk through the Nagamachi Samurai District, where samurai and their families traditionally resided. After these scheduled activities, the rest of the afternoon is yours to discover more of Kanazawa at your own pace. Your journey continues to the picturesque town of Takayama. Here, you'll travel aboard a high-speed bullet train from Kanazawa, reaching your destination in approximately two hours. Upon arrival, take the afternoon to relax and immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere of the traditional Japanese inn where you'll be staying. If you're feeling adventurous, you can opt to visit Sake Street, where you can learn more about Japan's famous fermented rice beverage and perhaps sample a few varieties.

Experience a day steeped in culture and tradition in Takayama. Start with a visit to the Hida No Sato, a traditional folk village, where you can tour various preserved buildings dating back to the 1600s. You have the rest of the day to explore the area, perhaps visit a nearby hot spring or sample more sake.

Travel to Hiroshima aboard a high-speed bullet train from Takayama. Upon arrival, visit the Peace Park and Museum, a poignant reminder of the city's tragic past, where you'll learn more about the catastrophic impact of the atomic bomb. While in the park, visit various memorials including the statue of Sadako Sasaki, a young girl who died from leukemia as a result of the bomb blast, and the Gembaku Dome, the only building to withstand the explosion. Journey to the historic city of Kyoto, the former imperial capital of Japan, by a high-speed bullet train. Here, visit the remarkable Fushimi Inari Shrine, known for its thousands of torii gates. Your exploration of Kyoto continues with a visit to the impressive Nijo Castle and its beautiful gardens. On this day, you'll have a free day to explore Kyoto. You can visit the Zen gardens, large wooden temples, pagodas, and shrines of Kyoto. You have the option to visit the Zen gardens of Ryoan-ji and the Silver Pavilion, and take a leisurely stroll down the Philosopher’s path to Nanzen-ji. You could also visit the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, take part in a traditional costume photoshoot, and enjoy a tea ceremony.

You'll leave Kyoto and travel to Kawaguchiko, a town in the Mt Fuji region. There you can take optional walks around Lake Kawaguchi and savour a Japanese kaiseki dinner. You will also visit the Onsen Spa at your accommodation.
