Georgia Wine & Highlands Explorer

Tbilisi to Tbilisi – 10 Days

Expedition Overview

The “Georgia Wine & Highlands Explorer” tour is a bespoke private journey that reveals Georgia’s best cultural and natural treasures. Positioned at the crossroads of Eastern Europe, Georgia boasts deep cultural and historical ties to Europe. This 10-day tour starts with an in-depth exploration of Tbilisi, Georgia’s vibrant capital, where private cultural touring brings the city’s history and modernity to life. Walk the streets of Tbilisi, uncovering its architectural and historical gems.

Get into the heart of Georgian winemaking with a private wine tasting in the renowned Kakheti region, a celebrated wine-producing area famous for its ancient tradition of Georgian wine. This tour also takes you to the historical sites around Mtskheta, including Jvari Monastery and other UNESCO World Heritage sites, to dive into the country’s spiritual heritage. Explore the ancient rock-cut towns of Uplistsikhe and Vardzia, where history is carved into the landscape, and marvel at the fortresses of Khertvisi and Ananuri, testaments to Georgia’s medieval past. The trip ends with 3 nights in the stunning Kazbegi National Park.

SPIRITUAL SITES OF MTSKHETA: Uncover Georgia’s spiritual roots in Mtskheta, a UNESCO-listed ancient capital. Visit Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral—masterpieces of early Christian architecture. These sacred sites offer panoramic views and deep historical resonance, showcasing Georgia’s religious heritage amid breathtaking surroundings.

The story

What inspired us to design the Georgia Wine & Highlands Explorer was Georgia’s rare ability to blend centuries-old winemaking traditions with breathtaking landscapes, deep cultural roots, and historic landmarks. This journey traces parts of the ancient Silk Road and includes visits to world-renowned UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Mtskheta and Vardzia, connecting travellers with the soul of the Caucasus.

Georgia’s wine culture is not just about tasting – it's about sharing stories. From traditional qvevri methods in the Kakheti region to the historic Tsinandali Estate and Chateau Mukhrani, we wanted guests to experience wine as a living tradition. Pair this with the dramatic peaks of Kazbegi National Park, the sacred Gergeti Trinity Church, and the peaceful charm of Borjomi, and the journey becomes much more than a tour.

We designed this tour to give our guests a taste of Georgia’s warm hospitality, its rich history along the Silk Road, and the joy of exploring both vineyards and mountain villages—all the way to the Black Sea edge.
