What inspired us to design this Beijing Tibet Tour was the desire to connect two of Asia’s most profound cultural landscapes—China’s imperial legacy and Tibet’s spiritual soul.
Starting in Beijing, we included iconic landmarks such as the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, and the Great Wall, offering a deep dive into the heart of Chinese history. From there, travellers board the legendary Train to Lhasa, crossing the Qinghai Lake and high plateaus for a breathtaking transition into Tibet.
In Lhasa, we curated visits to sacred sites like the Potala Palace, former residence of the Dalai Lama, and important monastic centres including Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. The tour includes a walking tour of local Tibetan markets and concludes with the option to continue to Shigatse and Everest Base Camp, bringing travellers closer to the spiritual and natural wonders that make a Tibet tour truly unforgettable.
YOUR TRIP DESIGN, PACE & FLEXIBILITY: This privately operated China–Tibet journey is designed as a grand transition: imperial Beijing at full depth, then the high plateau of Tibet with Lhasa as the spiritual centrepiece. The most valuable refinement is to protect “breathing space” at both ends—Beijing for a properly curated experience of the Forbidden City and its great cultural institutions, and Lhasa for altitude comfort and unhurried monastery time. If you enjoy travel that feels seamless, we can also shape the handover between China and Tibet to be as smooth as possible, with sensible buffers that protect flights, permits and acclimatisation.
PRIVATE GUIDES, DRIVERS & ON-THE-GROUND SUPPORT: This is a journey where expertise should feel effortless. In Beijing, a specialist cultural host can elevate the experience beyond standard touring—imperial history, architecture and symbolism delivered with discretion and pace. In Tibet, the approach shifts to high-altitude judgement and spiritual context: private vehicle support, experienced drivers, and local Tibetan experts who can bring meaning to Jokhang, Potala and the great monasteries without over-explaining. Throughout, logistics are handled quietly—timings refined, access managed, and any adjustments made without the day feeling “replanned”.
ACCOMMODATION STANDARDS & MEAL BASIS: Accommodation is curated to a premium brief, with Beijing selected for location, quiet rooms and service that supports excellent evenings, and Lhasa chosen for comfort, calm and altitude-friendly recovery. Outside the major hubs, Tibet’s hotel standards vary; we secure the best-available options and protect comfort through room category, positioning and a paced itinerary. Dining can be curated as lightly or as fully as you wish—from refined Beijing tables to authentic Tibetan flavours—always with flexibility so evenings feel relaxed rather than programmed. Dietary preferences are usually manageable with advance notes, with realistic guidance for higher-altitude locations.
PERMITS, ALTITUDE & PRACTICAL COMFORT: Tibet travel is permit-led and must be arranged in line with your passport details and confirmed routing, alongside any required Chinese visa formalities. Altitude is the defining variable once in Tibet; the most elegant experience comes from a dignified acclimatisation strategy—an extra night in Lhasa is often the simplest way to improve comfort. Weather and operating controls can occasionally affect access and timings; we plan with sensible buffers and keep the programme flexible enough to pivot without disappointment. Comprehensive travel insurance is essential, including high-altitude cover and medical evacuation.
COSTING, PAYMENTS, CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS: Pricing reflects a specialist, high-comfort programme across two very different environments: premium hotels, private transport, expert guiding, and the permit-led logistics required for Tibet. The main cost drivers are seasonality, room categories (especially in peak periods in Beijing and Lhasa), and any enhancements such as additional acclimatisation nights or upgraded handling for long touring days. Once permits and key services are secured, changes can be constrained by supplier terms and official processing; any implications are explained clearly before adjustments are actioned, with transparent deadlines and conditions.
