The Vale Niseko | Luxury Holidays in Japan | Asian Geographical Adventures

The Vale Niseko is a 5-star luxury resort hotel, located in the Upper Hirafu Village, on Hokkaido island. Winner of the World's Best Ski Boutique Hotel in both 2014 and 2015, this ultra-chic resort offers internationally renowned ski holiday luxury. Complemented with numerous facilities including a ski valet and a desirable ski in / ski out location right on the ski slopes, The Vale is ideal for skiers looking for snowboarding, back country and great powder off-piste skiing.

Accommodation at The Vale Niseko comprises of 49 luxury studios, apartments and penthouses. All have an open plan design and are decorated in a minimalist décor with luxurious features and large floor to ceiling windows. The self-contained apartments come with premium fit-outs, open fires and fully equipped kitchens. Open plan bathrooms have bathtubs with mountain views and ultra-chic penthouses feature private onsens with stunning views of Mount Yotei.

Niseko is made up of four ski areas – Annupuri, Niseko Village, Hirafu and Hanazono which are interlinked and covered on one ski pass. Other nearby ski resorts include Rusutsu, 45-minute drive away, which has an extensive network of high-speed lifts. Kiroro is another great option with 21 runs and diverse off-piste terrain. If travelling in February, we recommend visiting the Sapporo Ice & Snow Festival to see hundreds of beautiful snow statues and ice sculptures in Odori Park.

Stay The Vale Niseko comprises of 49 studios, apartments and penthouses. All rooms and apartments are all decked out with luxurious furnishings, premium bedding, king beds that can be split into twin beds and all the mod cons including Wi-Fi, cable TV with DVD player. All rooms have designer bathrooms featuring stone and hardwood timbers, apartments have fully equipped kitchens and penthouses come with their own private onsen tubs, out on a balcony overlooking the piste. 

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at the Vale Niseko but there are no specific facilities available for children. Babysitting services can be arranged, on request. 

Dine Dining at the can either take place in the private apartments or at the Vale Bar & Grill, ideal for breakfast, lunch, dinner and après ski. The Vale Niseko is also close to many restaurants, most of which are within 2-mins walking distance including Kamimura led by Michelin star chef Yuichi Kamimura serving Japanese and French fusion menus. Further afield are La Villa Lupicia and Asperges Hanazono led by 3-Star Michelin Chef Hiroshi.

Relax Guests can relax in the natural hot springs of the onsite Vale Onsen, perfect way to end a day of skiing and relaxing those aching muscles. Thermal water is pumped from 700metres below the surface. It is said that it takes as much as 160 years to filter down through Mt Yotei collecting its healing minerals through the process. There is also an outdoor heated pool and saunas. There is also an on-site equipment hire shop which stocks a range of accessories for sale.

Experience During the ski season, Niseko resort is covered in a blanket of snow with an astonishing 15m average snowfall a year. The Vale Niseko can organise instructors for off-piste skiing and snowboarding and expert local guides for backcountry skiing. Other opportunities include snow shoeing, snowmobiling and snow tubing, all of which are great fun. If travelling in February, it’s worth visiting the annual Sapporo Snow Festival famous for its hundreds of snow statues and ice sculptures.
 


 

Location The Vale Niseko is located right on the ski slopes in Niseko.

Getting there Middle Hirafu is well served by the New Chitose Airport, the largest commercial airport in Hokkaido, operating a large number of both domestic and international flights on a daily basis.

When to go The main ski season runs from the end of November through to Easter. January - April sees the highest snowfall and the lowest temperatures will be felt in February when it can reach -7 degrees.
