The Six Senses Bhutan offers a range of carefully planned itineraries and activities for you to experience the best that Bhutan has to offer.

Thimphu Six Senses Thimphu is set in the capital city, where the design emphasis is on culture. The hotel has used an abundance of wood panelling, whitewashed adobe walls and natural stone. Interiors are decorated with handcrafted objects and furnished with intricate local fabrics and carpets. Old solid wood is repurposed into table and bench tops, while handcrafted rust-coloured brick is used for structures.

Punakha The second stop on the Bhutan Circuit is Six Senses Punakha. Set amidst traditional farmhouses the hotel architecture blends with its rural fertile land with terraces. Modern facilities blend with local adobe style, light fittings cleverly crafted from mason jars as the community would once have used and the clever use of bamboo and rattan items of interest.

Gangtey Travel next to Six Senses Gangtey, known for its black-necked cranes. The hotel has beautifully weathered timber floors and warm leather sofas set against picture windows. The highlight here is the unique bird-watching chalet crafted from local stone and enclosed with expansive timer-framed windows to enable guests to get close to their feathered friends.

Bumthang Next to Six Senses Bumthang, set within verdant woodland, with expansive windows welcome the outdoors to be a part of an interior experience. The natural interior palette, warm recycled wood and minimalistic décor blends with the woodland exterior.

Paro Complete the circuit with your stay in Six Senses Paro. Set near an old stone ruins, the ambience has been playfully brought to the interiors, with hewn stone walls contrasted with mid-tone vertical timbers. There are community-gathering spots in which to share tales of the journey with fellow travellers in the warmth of an open fire.

Location Six Senses Bhutan is made up of 5 wonderful lodges that can easily be combined in one itinerary. These are located in Paro, Thimpu, Punakha, Gangtey and Bumtang.

When to go In the western, central and eastern Bhutan you will mostly experience cold European-like weather. Winter lasts here from November to March. The Monsoon occurs between June and August when the temperature is normally between 8° and 21°C. October and November are arguably the best months, when the monsoon has passed and the skies are clear. The spring months of March, April and May are best for the flora, but it can be stormy as the monsoon builds up for July-September.
