The Puli Hotel & Spa is set in the heart of Shanghai that is perfect for both business and leisure purposes. Located next to JingAn Park, the hotel benefits from picturesque views of the green park, the best shopping and dining areas, as well as a Metro line under the hotel. Set in a serene setting within the beautiful part of downtown Shanghai, it makes a perfect enclave for travellers who want to be in midst of the action but seek quiet indulgence of a luxurious resort.
The grand lobby at the Puli Hotel in Shanghai is luxuriously equipped with comfortable seating, indirect lighting and furnished with portraits by native artist Li Jing Bin. The polished black ink stone floor reminisces of the past imperial days. The contemporary sofas and Ming-style wooden armchairs are set up to form exclusive enclaves within a Long Bar-cum-reception. I sneak a view of a Chinese water garden through floor-to-ceiling windows and the truth about being an urban resort sinks in.
The Puli hotel is five minutes’ walk to subway and the transportation station to Pudong airport, making it easy for sightseeing and business. Just a few streets away are the animated, tree-lined avenues of Shanghai's French Concession (Xintiandi) which has some quirky shops and great restaurants. Within the hotel, the Anantara Spa and Wellness offers a range of ancient therapies. There is also a swimming pool and well-equipped gym.

Getting There International passengers will arrive at the Pudong International airport (PVG) served by major airline carriers. It is approximately 45 minutes by car to the city centre but the magnetic-levitation train takes less than eight minutes. If you are not staying in Pudong then it is faster and wiser to take a taxi. Domestic travellers will land at Shanghai Airport (SHA) which is about 25 minutes from the city centre on the western side of Shanghai.
When to go The best time to visit Shanghai is during March-April and September to early November. Winter is windy and chilly. July and August are unpleasantly hot and humid. September and October are ideal months but they’re also very popular times for meetings and conventions. To avoid big crowds and enjoy good weather visit late March or late October-November. Avoid the two golden weeks; 01-03 May and from 01-07 Oct when the Chinese have their long holiday.
