Amanfayun in Hangzhou, is set in an exclusive traditional Chinese village, west of West Lake and surrounded by green mountains. Amanfayun offers 42 rooms, suites and villas, mostly constructed of camphor-wood, stone floors and clay-tiled roofs, that date from the Tang dynasty. Location Amanfayun Hangzhou, is a rural retreat in the bamboo filled mountains above the historic city of Hangzhou. Nestled into 35 acres of tea plantations, natural forest and set in a Fayun village, it provides a peaceful and luxurious hideaway from the large and crowded Hangzhou city.
Getting There Amanfayun is approximately a 50-minute drive north of Hangzhou Airport. The Hangzhou International Airport serves domestic and International flights. The airport is 17 miles (27km) from the city centre. Hangzhou is about 180 kilometres from Shanghai. A bullet train zips here from Shanghai in a smooth 50 minutes, while the new maglev train is under construction.
When to go The best time to visit Hangzhou is during the spring (March to mid-May) and Autumn (mid-September to November) when it is pleasant, dry and cool. Winter is cold at just above freezing with heavy humidity. Spring is a good time to see the peach blossom when the weather remains cool. The temperature rises in June, followed by rain that lasts until September. Temperatures range from 2°C - 8°C in January, to 25°C - 33°C in July.
