Six Senses Krabey – Island Escape in Cambodia

Six Senses Krabey Island is a luxury island resort set on Krabey Island, a short boat ride from Sihanouville on Cambodia’s mainland. Situated just off of Cambodia’s coast, this small 40-acre island, with its highest point being just 42 meters above sea level, offers powder sand beaches with views of the stunning emerald sea. Sympathetic to its tranquil surroundings, Six Senses Krabey Island is a wonderful retreat to help completely unwind after a touring itinerary through Southeast Asia.

Set amidst the naturally landscaped island grounds, Six Senses Krabey Island offers 40 pool villas. Each villa includes a private pool, decking area and large bathroom, and some feature outdoor showers and wine cellars. The spacious villas boast a spoiling master bedroom with light woods, soft linens, glass walls and chic and airy living room with space for an extra bed. The equally spacious bathrooms have twin vanities and free standing large bathtubs.

There are two dining options at the Six Senses Krabey Island; the main restaurant with an all-day dining option and Indochine, the speciality dining restaurant with a show kitchen. There is a huge emphasis on wellness and the luxurious spa offers Cambodian healing treatments, multi-day rejuvenation journeys, yoga and wellness workshops. The resort offers a wide range of activities to include snorkelling, diving, kayaking as well as cultural tours on the mainland.

Stay Six Senses Krabey Island features just 40 villas. Each of these are built using sustainable materials without compromising on the modern amenities expected at five-star hotels. Spread across the 30-acre island with its highest point being just 42 meters above sea level, each of the spacious villas are carefully located to enjoy the beautiful sea views. All villas feature spacious bedrooms and living area decorated in minimalist modern décor and private plunge pool with mini wine cellar.

ChildCare Families with children are welcome to stay at Six Senses Krabey Island. All villas are spacious enough to occupy an extra cot or you can opt for twin room villa. Babysitting service can be arranged, upon request.

Dine There are two dining options at the Six Senses Krabey Island, offering a wide range of Western and traditional Cambodian dishes with a distinct French style. Meals are served in the indoor air-conditioned restaurant or al fresco on the terrace, overlooking the sea. The beach shack offers grill, fish and sea food platters, sourced fresh from the local fishermen.

Relax There is an infinity swimming pool at the Six Senses Krabey Island with beautiful views of the sea. There is a Six Senses Spa with a meditation cave, an outdoor treatment and yoga sala, while the juice bar offers a variety of fresh fruits and herbs from the island. Other facilities include an observatory for stargazing, yoga studio and outdoor cinema. There is also a retail boutique offering a range of resort wear, yoga wear and natural body and beauty products.

Experience The wide range of activities on offer at the Six Senses Krabey Island include snorkelling, diving, kayaking and a poolside outdoor cinema. The mainland is just about 10 mins by boat where guests can visit Bokor National Park, once a luxury mountain retreat in 1920s and now a collection of French colonial buildings. Take a stroll along the Kampot promenade or journey through scenic rural countryside to Phnom Chngouk, the 7th-century Hindu temple.

Location Six Senses Krabey Island is located on Krabi Island, just a short boat trip from Sihanoukville on Cambodia's coast.

Geting there It's possible to fly to Sihanoukville from Phnom Penh or alternatively you can fly there from Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Fly to Phnom Penh or Ho Chi Minh City in approximately 12-15 hours.

When to go Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.
