Explore the Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area harbouring rare and endangered species like the snow leopard, red panda, and Himalayan black bear, through trekking and camping.

Chorten Kora is an impressive white stupa located near the Kholong Chu River. Built in the 18th century, it is modeled after the famous Boudhanath Stupa in Nepal. The annual Chorten Kora Festival takes place in February or March and attracts people from nearby regions to participate in religious rituals and masked dances.
Similar to its counterpart in Thimphu, the Institute of Zorig Chusum in Trashi Yangtse is dedicated to preserving and promoting Bhutan's traditional arts and crafts. The institute offers courses in painting, wood carving, sculpture, and other art forms. Visitors can watch students practicing their skills and purchase unique handcrafted souvenirs.
Trashiyangtse Dzong is a historic fortress that is located in the heart of the town. The dzong is a significant cultural site that is known for its stunning architecture and intricate wood carvings.
Bomdeling Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area that spans a diverse range of habitats, from alpine meadows to subtropical forests. The sanctuary is home to numerous plant and animal species, including the endangered black-necked crane, snow leopard, and red panda. Trekking through the sanctuary provides an excellent opportunity for bird-watching, wildlife spotting, and experiencing Bhutan's pristine natural beauty.
Gom Kora, also known as Gomphu Kora, is a sacred temple and meditation site associated with Guru Rinpoche. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche meditated here and left a body imprint on a large rock. The annual Gom Kora Tsechu, a vibrant religious festival, is held in the temple's courtyard and showcases traditional mask dances and religious rituals.
Trashi Yangtse is famous for its traditional handmade paper, known as "De-sho." The Paper Factory offers visitors a chance to learn about the traditional paper-making process, which uses the bark of the Daphne tree. You can observe artisans creating beautiful sheets of paper and even try your hand at making your own. The handmade paper is used for religious texts, artwork, and various handicrafts, making it a unique souvenir to take home.
