An 11-day trek through Tajikistan, exploring Dushanbe's historic sites, Varzob canyon, Iskanderkul lake, and the legendary Seven Lakes. Experience challenging treks, cultural tours, and nights under the stars in this epic Tajik adventure.
Your Tajik adventure starts with your afternoon arrival in Dushanbe, the capital city nestled in the mountains and history. After a warm welcome at the international airport you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can unwind and acclimatize. The rest of the day is free to relax at the hotel or explore the city’s streets, full of discoveries and excitement.
Wake up in Dushanbe and enjoy a big breakfast at the hotel, preparing you for a day of exploration. Your guided tour of the city will show you Tajikistan’s history and culture, visiting the Antiquities’ Museum with the 40-foot Buddha statue, the Musical Instruments Museum, the Botanical Gardens and the Somoni Place. Wander in the oriental market, a treasure trove of Tajik crafts and flavours, with lunch and dinner at local restaurants, authentic Tajik cuisine. Back to the hotel for a restful night.
Trek through the Varzob canyon, the mysterious tunnel to Iskanderkul lake. Lunch break during the day and then visit a nearby waterfall, a natural wonder of Tajikistan. Continue to Saritag village and then to the confluence of the Karakul river and Dugdone stream. Here at 7,700 feet you will set up camp, dinner under the stars, surrounded by nature.
After breakfast in the mountains your trek along the Dugdone stream starts. 4 hours of breathtaking landscapes and you will set up camp at 9,500 feet. Here you will have a picnic lunch and then set up camp. Evening to relax and connect with nature and the untouched beauty around you, a peaceful night under the mountain sky.
Continue trekking up the Dugdon pass to 12,500 feet. Picnic lunch in the thin air. The descent into Sarikhodang Gorge, marking a 7-hour of trekking with awe-inspiring views of distant glaciers. As you set up camp for the night, the gorge's serene beauty offers a backdrop for an al fresco dinner, closing another day of exploration with the peaceful solitude of the Tajik wilderness.
Wake up in the mountain air and enjoy breakfast, ready for the day of trekking. Trek to Pushtikul lake at 8,000 feet, with serene views and calm water. Continue to Obi-safed river, where you will set up camp. Here by the river you will have dinner and rest, reflecting on the journey so far and the adventures to come.
Wake up by the river and enjoy breakfast, ready for the 6-7 hours of trekking ahead. Cross Munora pass at 11,000 feet and descend to Sarimat river. Here you will have a leisurely lunch and set up camp. Afternoon at leisure, to relax and let the day’s efforts fade away into nature.
Start the day aiming for Tavassang pass and then descend to Hazorchashma Lake. Famous for its beauty, this lake is one of the seven lakes of Tajikistan. Enjoy a picnic lunch with breathtaking views before setting up camp. Spend the afternoon leisurely, absorbing the tranquil beauty and the significance of Hazorchashma Lake, a testament to Tajikistan's natural splendour.
Trek to the Seven Lakes, each with its own charm, and have a swim in Lake Gushor. The continue to Pendjikent, where after a picnic lunch, you will have a city tour. Visit the ancient town before enjoying dinner and settling into a local guesthouse, offering a moment to reflect on the day's discoveries.
Return to Dushanbe and enjoy a local lunch. Then visit the historical Guissar fortress, a site echoing the stories of Tajikistan's past. The evening promises a farewell dinner, a time to celebrate the journey's end and the memories made, before a restful night at your hotel, preparing for tomorrow's departure.
Last day in Dushanbe, end of the journey. Check out from the hotel and be transferred to the international airport, with the memories, sights and connections of the trek. As you depart to your next destination, Tajikistan and its people will be with you, calling you back.
