Mountain Top Hotel is a comfortable boutique hotel, set near the Golden Rock Pagoda on top of Mount Kyaiktiyo. Built in traditional Karen style: open-brick walls, slopping red-tiled roofs and half-timbering, it houses 52 Deluxe and Super Deluxe rooms. Location Mountain Top Hotel is located at the top of Mount Kyaiktiyo, a short walk from the Golden Rock Pagoda in the southern Mon State of Burma.
Getting there 14-hour indirect flight to Yangon, followed by a four-hour drive to Kinmon, the base camp of Kyaiktiyo, There is then a shared hour-long transfer in a large open truck up the mountain which is quite bumpy and not for the faint-hearted!
When to go The best time to visit Burma is during the dry season from November to April. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March, and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.
