Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake - Luxury by Yangon’s Lakeside

Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake is comfortably located near the Kandawgyi Lake with lovely walking paths and plenty of restaurants in the area. Wander around Kandawgyi Nature Park and Yangon Zoological Gardens, before strolling just 15 minutes to Shwedagon Pagoda, the world’s oldest pagoda built more than 2,600 years ago.

There are 300 rooms at the Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake, all of which are spacious and feature tasteful contemporary decor and modern amenities. All rooms are tastefully designed and furnished to reflect the luxurious surroundings, with French doors that open on to breathtaking views of Shwedagon Pagoda. All rooms feature a king size bed, sofa, desk, TV and hospitality tray. Club-level rooms offer access to the Club Lounge and all of its free perks, including happy hour cocktails and high tea.

The hotel has three fine-dining options, several bars and lounges, a large swimming pool, a modern fitness centre, and a spa. Although Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake isn't in the downtown, the lakeside setting is appealing and an agreeable escape from Yangon’s honking taxis. There are few restaurants or attractions in the immediate area, but the hotel free shuttle or a taxi will take you amid downtown’s bustle and the glorious colonial architecture.

Stay Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake has 300 comfortable rooms. These are grouped in eight differing configurations, starting at a generous 40 sqm. Each features floor-to-ceiling French doors and a Juliet balcony with views of either the Lake/Pagoda or the distant Shwedagon Stupa. All rooms are luxuriously decorated with polished wood furniture, sofas, wool carpets and ample lighting. Club Rooms include lounge access for all-day refreshments, free afternoon tea, evening cocktails and use of the meeting room and business centre.


ChildCare Children are welcome to stay at the Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake, but there are no specific facilities available. Babysitting service can be arranged, if requested.


Dine Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake has six food outlets with three restaurants each specialising in different cuisine. The main Emporia Restaurant serves an extensive buffet breakfast with Western, Japanese, Chinese and Indian offerings. Tiger Hill, serves exceptional Chinese cuisine, while the Japanese Kohaku, has private rooms with views of the tropical pool and Asian-inspired gardens. The marble-floored lobby lounge makes for a remarkable venue for high-tea or sip your favourite cocktail at Club Rizzoli.


Relax The Chatrium Hotel’s popular Lilawadee Spa has recently been relocated and enlarged and a fitness Centre. There is a large beach-style swimming pool, overlooked by both wings of the L-shaped hotel. Changing rooms are located next to the pool, which is convenient if you have already made your check out but still have a few hours to freshen-up before catching the next flight.


Experience On a hill, just west of the Chatrium Hotel is the massive, Shwedagon Pagoda, the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar. Opposite the hotel the namesake Royal Lake and its lush green park are an agreeable escape from the crowded downtown. There are few restaurants in the surrounds, but the hotel’s free shuttle or a taxi is readily take you to the centre of the town. Visit Sule Pagoda, the Pansodan Colonial Heritage Trail, the Supreme Court and Scott Market.
 


 

Location Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake in Yangon, is a well-maintained five-star hotel is situated among lush tropical gardens and beside the serene Kandawgyi Lake. This modern hotel is perfectly located to explore the town and is a short walk from the Shwedagon Pagoda.


Getting There Yangon airport has undergone a major renovation and facilitates both international and domestic terminals. There is no accommodation in the immediate vicinity of the airport. The easiest way to get to and from the airport to the city is by taxi. 


When to go The best time to visit Myanmar is between October and April when the weather is dry and not so hot. At this time the warm and sunny days are ideal for sightseeing throughout the country. The temperatures start to rise in March and May to September is best avoided as this is the rainy season when sightseeing can become difficult.
