Experience Located in the central part of the mainland of Japan, Kanazawa was a great castle town ruled by an influential leader from the 17th-century to the second half of the 19th-century. Getting there A 12-hour international flight to Haneda or Narita airport followed by a direct 2.5hr bullet train to Kanazawa.
When to go Kanazawa is located in the west of Japan and is characterised by a fairly mild climate with high precipitation. The climate here is cooler than it is in Tokyo, with regular snow fall in winter. The best time to visit Kanazawa is from April to November.
