Kaafila Camps offers a once-in-a-lifetime journey, showcasing unexplored reaches of Central India for the discerning traveller. Recreating the ancient concept of ‘Kaafila’, meaning a caravanserai in Hindi, guests will travel through remote parts of the fascinating country in true nomadic style, with our camp in toe. During the day, while the guests explore the ancient forts and tread through jungles in search of a tiger or leopard, the staff would set up tent and be waiting with a hot cup of tea.
The Sarai at Toria is a small, charming safari lodge, set on the banks of the Ken River, just outside Panna Tiger Reserve. The property is owned and operated by Dr Raghu Chundawat and his wife Joanna Van Gruisen, who have visions for conservation and a passion for wildlife. Accordingly, they hired Eugene Pandala, an Indian architect known for his nature friendly design, who incorporated regional architecture and building style to build an eco-friendly lodge with a local character.
