The Danna, Langkawi is a colonial style luxury hotel, located on the beautiful white sandy bay of Pantai Kok, near the Telaga Harbour Marina. This award-winning property has a delightful location on the north-west edge of Langkawi and is conveniently situated for exploring the island’s attractions. The resort is spread out onto five floors around a huge garden and koi pond with stunning views of the white-sand beach, verdant rolling hills and the quaint harbour.
The Danna Resort has 125 colonial styled rooms. These are artfully designed in contemporary décor, with floor-to-ceiling glass panels and a private balcony for beautiful views. Rooms are elegantly furnished with timber floors, colonial artwork, handcrafted woodwork and four poster beds. Rooms are grouped in three categories; Merchant rooms provide views of the rolling hills or the manicured courtyard, while Marina and Viceroy have views of the marina, bay area or hotel’s infinity pool.
The three dining venues at The Danna, offer western, Indian and Asian dishes, as well as English afternoon tea. The Danna Spa, located on the top floor with panoramic views has 7 single and 2 couple rooms, all offering a range of relaxing and pampering treatments. There is a spectacular multi-tiered infinity pool with views over the Andaman Sea. Nearby, is the pretty harbour of Perdana Quay for those who like to take a short walk.

Stay The Danna resort has colonial styled 125 rooms and suites. The entry level start with standard Merchant and the Grand Merchant rooms with four poster beds. For a room with a view, choose from Marina, Viceroy or Grand Viceroy. These provide view of the marina, bay area or hotel’s infinity pool from a private terrace or balcony. Recommended rooms for honeymooners and families are the Countess and Duchess Suites. These boast a separate living area equipped with home entertainment system, two balconies and a Jacuzzi with a view. For regal living you cannot fault with the Royal Imperial.
ChildCare The Danna is a family friendly hotel and children are welcome. Its Kiddies Club caters for children of all ages, from the smallest to the youngest looked after by reliable carers. The Kiddies Club has a Playroom, a Games Room and a Movie Room. Childminders are available.
Dine Dining options at The Danna resort include The Planter restaurant, set around the infinity swimming pool and overlooking the beach, offers a wide selection of Mediterranean, European and local cuisine. Nearby Straits & Co, the British-style café continues with the tradition of taking in afternoon tea. But it is the Verandah, with its high ceilings, magnificent chandeliers and towering pillars where we spent most of our day, in an intimate corner of possibly one of Langkawi's classiest lounges.
Relax The Danna resort has a 3-tier Infinity Swimming Pool, the largest of its kind on the island. It consists of a children's pool and an outdoor Jacuzzi - perfect for a whole family. Located on the top floor, adjacent to the fitness centre is the Danna Spa with a wide range of spa treatments. Do ask for their Happy Hour specials and seasonal promotions. Private yoga sessions can also be arranged and personalized to suit all levels, from introductory exploration to advanced practice.
Experience The Danna resort conducts the Langkawi island hopping tour to explore its most illustrious islets. The trip will take around Singa Besar Island, Dayang Bunting Island and Beras Basah Island. Langkawi is home to approximately 230 species of birds, of which about one third are migrants. These migrants winter here between the months of November and April. This tour is suitable for both the serious birder and the birding enthusiast.

Getting There One can get to Langkawi by plane. Flying time to Langkawi is 55-minutes from Kuala Lumpur airport, 30-minutes from Penang Airport, and 90-minutes from Singapore Changi International Airport. Fast air-conditioned boats are also available from Kuala Perlis (1hr and 15 mins) and Penang (2hr and 45 mins). The Danna Langkawi, is 15 minutes (11 km) away from Langkawi International Airport.
When to go The weather in Langkawi is consistently hot and humid all-year-round, with occasional rainfall and cloudy skies. The best time to travel to Langkawi is from mid-November until mid-April, during which time there is very little rain. The mid-season is from mid-April until August when the mornings can be sunny, but the afternoons can be overcast. Langkawi experiences heavy rainfall due to monsoon winds between the months of September and October.
