The spacious rooms in the Meritus Penlagi Beach Resort have varied views of the surrounds; beach, garden, lake and pool. Garden Terrace Rooms, look out over the tropical gardens, Lakefront Rooms overlook a tranquil lake. Those who want to be closer to the pool can choose Pool Terrace Room and for long view of Andaman sea, opt for a Beachfront Room. There are also Family Suites available on request, with either garden or sea view.
Explore global cuisine at the Meritus Penlagi Beach Resort’s four excellent dining venues offering a choice of international cuisine. Meals can be had in the main dining venue, al fresco on the terrace or on the sands of Cenang beach. There is a kids’ club and the entertaining water play area. Other facilities include the Pelangi Spa, complete with sauna and steam room, fitness centre, tennis and squash courts. Activities include jet skiing, snorkelling and scuba diving.

Stay Meritus Penlagi Beach Resort has 355 guestrooms and suites. These are housed in 51 one and two storey wooden chalets raised on stilts and arranged to resemble a traditional Malaysian village. Beach Front rooms open up to the white sandy beach of Cenang. The Garden Terrace View rooms, housed in a double storey chalet, open up to lush tropical landscaped gardens. The two-storey Lake View rooms, face a manmade lake and the beachfront, while the Cascade Pool rooms are close to swimming pools.
ChildCare Children are welcome to stay at the Meritus Penlagi Beach Resort. Beach Front and Garden Terrace View room can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children age 12 and below. Families with older children can request for Family Suits with either garden or sea views. There is a kids’ club, restaurants have special menu for kids and baby chairs available. Babysitting service can be arranged on request.
Dine The Meritus Penlagi Beach Resort has four excellent dining venues. The Spice Market, located at the hotel lobby, is a Malaysian-inspired all-day dining restaurant serving the best of Asian cuisine. The CBA serves genuine global cuisines with an Asian twist and is also a great place for evening cocktails at sun set and offers romantic beach dinning. Pelangi Lounge serves a wide range of liqueur, ice-cream delights and a variety of cocktails and there is swim-up island bar.
Relax There are two swimming pools at the Meritus Penlagi Beach Resort. The larger main pool near the reception area, which also has a very good children's pool next to it. Pamper yourself at the Pelangi Spa with restorative massages and invigorating treatments. There is a state-of-the-art fitness centre equipped with Technogym equipment and loads of options for watersports and land activities.
Experience Visit the Underwater World that features a diverse range of fresh-water and marine fish including giant Arapaima's, various species of sharks and rays and Giant Groupers. Don’t miss the dazzling displays of colourful corals, and get up close with penguins specially brought from the Arctic. Then take an exhilarating ride on the Langkawi Cable Car, across the forest canopy and up the escarpment to Mount Machinchang's summit.

Getting There One can get to Langkawi by plane. Flying time to Langkawi is 55-minutes from Kuala Lumpur airport, 30-minutes from Penang Airport, and 90-minutes from Singapore Changi International Airport. Fast air-conditioned boats are also available from Kuala Perlis (1hr and 15 mins) and Penang (2hr and 45 mins). Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort is 15 minutes away from Langkawi International Airport.
When to go The weather in Langkawi is consistently hot and humid all-year-round, with occasional rainfall and cloudy skies. The best time to travel to Langkawi is from mid-November until mid-April, during which time there is very little rain. The mid-season is from mid-April until August when the mornings can be sunny, but the afternoons can be overcast. Langkawi experiences heavy rainfall due to monsoon winds between the months of September and October.
